True, but similar things were said after the 2003 fiasco as well. The way I see it, this will become a repetitive trend in the ridiculously farcical and flash-in-pan world of Pakistani cricket. This is the very reason why I left this game in the first place back in 2003, although the odd good moments did manage to bring me back to it for a short while, but at the end it was exactly that: a short while.

It won't take that long because Pakistan U19 has won the last two world cups. There is a whole load of talent within the youth ranks and rumor is that Imran Khan will be allowed to revamp the cricket league system in Pakistan (I never want to see out players in England ever again...something bad always happens). I think these old ass unathletic slobs needed to go anyway.

Yup...the Aussies are back as favourites again

It won't take that long because Pakistan U19 has won the last two world cups. There is a whole load of talent within the youth ranks and rumor is that Imran Khan will be allowed to revamp the cricket league system in Pakistan (I never want to see out players in England ever again...something bad always happens). I think these old ass unathletic slobs needed to go anyway.

The politics within the game are too bakwaas anyway, that said I feel Imran Khan would do a better job as cricket administrator rather than a politician, the latter field in which he aint doing much and simply screaming and making a fool of himself on TV.

Imran Khan can make a difference, but as I said, I dont care what happens, my passion is football and I for one will do my bid for this game's progress, promotion, and prosperity in Pakistan.

Haha.. South Africa's plan backfired spectacularly, it's like every team that wins the toss against Australia wants to field first expecting to easily chase whatever score the Aussies make. It was all going good for them until they lost the 1st wicket and Kallis came and slowed down the run rate, every other batsman that came afterwards tried to smash boundaries but only managed to get themselves out in the process.

Hayden was on fire and that run out by Watson was just freakish. Australia scored more runs against SA than they did against Holland or Scotland. The importance of this win is that Australia will avoid playing Sri Lanka and New Zealand first up in the super 8's.

Well we're down to the business end of the tournament.. FINALLY!. There were a few good games but generally it's probably been the most disappointing world cup in recent memory. Half the stands in every game are empty and despite predictions that this would be a very closely fought world cup Australia seem to be running away with the cup.

The best two sides romped their way into the final as expected, it'll be interesting to see how Australia will handle Muralitharan and Malinga, both were rested the last time the sides faced each other. Australia has a far superior batting line-up than the Lankan's but if the Sri Lankan bowlers can knock over Hayden and Ponting early on in the game then they stand a good chance. Having said that, the pitch is expected to be fast and bouncy and should favour Australia a lot more than Sri Lanka. So hopefully Australia should breeze through the final and lift the world cup for the 3rd time in a row.

So the ridiculously long and failed ICC World Cup 2007 is finally coming to an end. Failed in the sense of being more of a money making exercise for the sponsors and ICC big wigs rather than getting a good atmosphere going with full involvement of the crowd. In mean, we saw almost empty stadiums in a lot of matches because of the ridiculously high ticket prices which the local enthusiasts, let alone the travelling fans can barely afford.

Lets see what happens, although given Australia's demolition team I would fancy them winning the trophy for the third time in succession; and why shouldnt they ? They have been dominant by playing hard and great for the greater part of the last 8 years to deserve another World Cup for their troubles, whilst we take pride in winning and meaninglessly lousy series against India and England, given the fact that the real thing is the damn World Cup
