We have great forwards - but that midfield we have cannot create the right opportunities for our forwards. They are on an island - that's why tactics and compactness and counter-football become so important.

I think in defense we are strong too - Hosseini, Kanaani and Pouraliganji (if he can get back to his great form).

Lots of ifs in defence. I would take Colombias defence over ours any day. Yet CQ couldnt help them and only stagnated their offense. More and more we see he is not the right man for the job given TM today. CQ is a convenient name albeit an expensive one. I doubt he would risk his TM legacy (debatable what that is) to inherit this team.

Now go and look at the stats of Iran vs Spain and see how similar they are to Spain vs Russia. Almost identical!!!!! And look at the completely different conclusion people draw... Did I hear any of the Pro-CQ fans to say we got "completely dominated" by Spain??? Biased??? Selective use of stats???

Exactly, people are so Damn biased and use only stats in their favour. Spain dominated us waaay more than they dominated Russia. I remember both matches clearly.

Performances against Spain and Portugal were not so impressive given the fact neither of those teams advanced beyond the round of 16? Are you mad? That's because it's knockout football. Spain lost to a home nation on penalties after completely dominating the game. Look at the possession, shots and xG stats The same happened to Portugal but to a lesser extent as Uruguay were more clinical with their chances in 90 minutes... they had Cavani and Suarez.

Skocic has prime Azmoun and Taremi and we play like we have in all of those qualifiers. It's embarrassing.

Spain's D team would look better than ours on paper and be favourites. Portugal were European Champions, won the Conference league the year after the WC and outside of having one of the greatest players that's ever played the game also had a full squad of players playing in top leagues who man for man were worth more than our players.

And no he wasnt good in Colombia. They lost 6-1 to Ecuador in the qualifiers. That was the first time since 1977 that Colombia conceeded 6 goals. Imagine if we lost 6-1 to any asian team, you Would have killed Skocic. And Bear in mind they didnt loose 6-1 to Brazil or Argentina, it was Ecuador
