The anti-CQ brigade have put together a few consecutive posts in here and are at threat of driving the narrative so let's all just be very careful here. We have outsiders viewing this forum looking for news of our managerial situation so let's not embarrass the community like this please.

Shahab is a great target man striker, good to see he remains in contention for the final squad
I would definitely take him as a Plan B option

Yes. If the firing is not official, then it is best to close the thread, as the title could be called "fake news".Originally posted by Essi View PostBTW, he's still not officially sacked so this thread could be closed

Lots of ifs in defence. I would take Colombias defence over ours any day. Yet CQ couldnt help them and only stagnated their offense. More and more we see he is not the right man for the job given TM today. CQ is a convenient name albeit an expensive one. I doubt he would risk his TM legacy (debatable what that is) to inherit this team.Originally posted by taremiscores View PostWe have great forwards - but that midfield we have cannot create the right opportunities for our forwards. They are on an island - that's why tactics and compactness and counter-football become so important.
I think in defense we are strong too - Hosseini, Kanaani and Pouraliganji (if he can get back to his great form).

Exactly, people are so Damn biased and use only stats in their favour. Spain dominated us waaay more than they dominated Russia. I remember both matches clearly.Originally posted by Farzadfarhangni View PostMalkay jan, you used stats of the game to support your argument that Spain completely dominated Russia. Possession, shots, etc... I think you are making a logical argument here and others see that as well and think this is the post of the year.
Now go and look at the stats of Iran vs Spain and see how similar they are to Spain vs Russia. Almost identical!!!!! And look at the completely different conclusion people draw... Did I hear any of the Pro-CQ fans to say we got "completely dominated" by Spain??? Biased??? Selective use of stats???
It goes back to what I said. People are not football fans in here. They are passionate Team Melli fans but dont really Care for football. I love this Forum for the news it gives me, and for the passion during and After match days. But you are a fool if you expect a proper football talk in here. Other than a few members of course

Performances against Spain and Portugal were not so impressive given the fact neither of those teams advanced beyond the round of 16? Are you mad? That's because it's knockout football. Spain lost to a home nation on penalties after completely dominating the game. Look at the possession, shots and xG stats The same happened to Portugal but to a lesser extent as Uruguay were more clinical with their chances in 90 minutes... they had Cavani and Suarez.
Skocic has prime Azmoun and Taremi and we play like we have in all of those qualifiers. It's embarrassing.
Spain's D team would look better than ours on paper and be favourites. Portugal were European Champions, won the Conference league the year after the WC and outside of having one of the greatest players that's ever played the game also had a full squad of players playing in top leagues who man for man were worth more than our players.
Our squad values at the 2018 World Cup according to Transfermarkt - https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/worl...ettbewerb/WM18
Their squads were worth 10 TIMES what ours was!
Our most capped players were Hajisafi (94), Shojaei (74) and Ansarifard (64)
Portugal - RONALDO (150), Joao Moutinho (110), Bruno Alves (96), Pepe (95)
Spain - RAMOS (152), DAVID SILVA (121), INIESTA (127), BUSQUETS (103), PIQUE (98)
With that disparity in footballing ability and experience in mind, it's mad that we drew with Portugal (almost beat them at the end) and lost by 1 goal to Spain (failing to equalise by a few cms)... and people want to question the ability of those 2 teams given their progress in the rest of the tournament. Find another pro-Skocic narrative fellas.

Infact their record after him was solid. Losing only to losing to Brazil 2-1 and 1-0 as well as Peru and Argentina 1-0. They even drew argentina after CQ. They would have qualified ahead of Peru if they had the record after Cq trend before him.

Columbia finished in 6th place and didn't even make the World Cup playoffs - they have a ton of talent but didn't find their groove after CQ either. He was not the problem.

Yes Egypt liked him, that makes it 2… point is the same. It is all about the right match, not the name of the coach.
And no he wasnt good in Colombia. They lost 6-1 to Ecuador in the qualifiers. That was the first time since 1977 that Colombia conceeded 6 goals. Imagine if we lost 6-1 to any asian team, you Would have killed Skocic. And Bear in mind they didnt loose 6-1 to Brazil or Argentina, it was Ecuador
I love Carlos and what he did for Iran. But Truth is the truth, and some people hide the truth because of their agenda
