The World cup is the biggest stage with eyes everywhere! At the very least 32 countries will see Team Melli and know their stories against the regime. Does no one remember when the MEK tried to disrupt the USA match? What is this anger about our football players? Our football players are athletes. They have no responsibility to be Martin Luther King or Gandhi yet they are risking themselves, their careers, their family members and some people abroad living comfortable in their homes are calling them names...for what? How Oghdeyi are you that just because you live abroad you want to take it out on Iranians in Iran by taking away one of their only joys in the last 43 years? And I'm one of you abroad.
Khak too sare een mellat ke hamash darde saro khodesh be khodesh miyare az hamoon jomhuriye eslami ta alan. Anyone speaking against IR right now in Iran is a soldier of the bravest order and braver than any Alinejad, Pahlavi, ***javi, or otherwise.
IR fears athletes and celebrities. That's why Khamenei even addressed it in his latest speech. The more they are in the spotlight, the better for the movement. The World Cup is the world's biggest center stage.

Marg Bar Dictator Khamenei and his IR.

My pregnant aunt, her husband, 2 daughters were on this flight. The USA has not even come close to offering an apology and gave a paltry amount of money to the families. I was only 4 years old at the time, but my older brothers and cousins tell me about how much it effected my family. My uncle (aunts husband) was a physician in Iran at the time and this event ended his family lineage as he was an only son.

Its insane to me how this was completely swept under the rug as it was USAs fault.
I lost a family member on this flight as well. Family never spoke about it but it devastated my grandparents. Pennies for the loss was all they were awarded. USA awarded medals to the crew and captain for their heroism and alot of bs after that.

Very sorry to hear that about your family.

The fact that they gave a legion of merit medal to that captain ""for exceptionally meritorious conduct", let alone didn't apologise - still makes me so angry. I can't imagine how you and your family must feel.

RIP to your family. That's terrible, rooheshoon shad bashe.

Iran Air Flight 655 and the ps752 were both criminal. Normal Iranians are always the victims of criminal governments - our own and outside Iran.

I think one thing that's being overlooked is that there's still a significant portion of the population within Iran who although not supporters of I.R, don't care about these protests (basically NPCs). They are going about their daily lives. Some are even annoyed by these protests causing disruption to their commute, or access to internet.

If TM is banned from WC, I guarantee you that it will turn public opinion against the protestors (despite the fact that it's not the protestors calling for TM to be banned, rather diaspora people who think they're Nelson Mandela).

The man literally received DEATH threats to his home by regime-morderkhors here in Canada. For the crime of wanting justice for the two most important and loved people of his life. DEATH THREATS and I'm sure IR would love nothing but to have him disappear by any means. He probably has a security team with him because of IR threat.
Sportswashing is a thing. That's why you see so many Newcastle fans all of a sudden supporting KSA regime, or City fans supporting Abu Dhabi regime.
As i said at the time. Provide proof and names for those individuals. Otherwise this is just speculation.

Did we get confirmation Iran shot down the plane intentionally? What was the reason for it, did someone find out? Wasn’t it a blunder due to Iran being on high alert from the trump-soleimani fiasco (after Iran bombed US base with ample warning)

IR have been killing normal people, singers, athletes for 40 years, so its not a new thing.
For the hundredth time, I don't want Iran to be banned

But your post history is another "don't mix politics with sports" one, with some loosbaazi mixed in.

There are too many young people dying now. If this doesn't hurt every fibre of your being, little will. No one can emotionally affect you but yourself.

Go and look at the videos in the general forum and tell us not to mix politics with sports..
Your linking of MEK to people like Hamed Esmaeilion doesn't warrant a response.
"Do not mix politics with sports" - I mean our football players are getting arrested! How much more mixed can it be!??
Never, ever, again tell us not to mix politics with sports.

No I am not saying that, nor have I ever said that.

But your "do not mix politics with sport" on this day of all days is loud and clear. Thanks for declaring where you stand, I think most on this forum can see.

Why contact FIFA to issue ban on footballers who have nothing to do with things that are happening or happend in Iran?

Those who like to write petitions, letters, emails, etc should contact UN Human Rights Office and other human rights organization not FIFA.

Why should national football team, football federation or sport ministry be punished for things they have not done?

Those who do not tolerate or respect views and opinions of other forum members should be ashamed of themselves. No wonder Democracy in Iran does not exist and possibly never will, it seems Iranians can only live under authoritarian regimes whether Monarchy, Theocratic, Communist or Military dictatorships. Every regime's supporters insult others whose views are different to them.
You are all entitled to your views and I do not judge you.
Anyone who attempts to do wrong to Team Melli, Sport Federation, Sport Ministry of Iran for their own personal revenge, vendetta, agenda is traitor. Some of them in canceling Canada-Iran friendly openly teamed up with certain political opposition groups who helped Saddam Hussein's Baathist Iranophobic regime in massacring innocent Iranians.
I repeat once again Team Melli staff and players, Football Federation, Sport Ministry are not responsible for what is happening in Iran, or happend during the past few decades or downing of PS752.
Stop signing petitions to issue travel ban on them or ban friendly matches or ban them from World Cup.
Team Melli playing in the World Cup will bring joy to all people of Iran.
