WC22 TM's preparation and friendlies

If we don't get more than three friendly matches before the WC against non-Asian teams, then all our players should retire from TM as a protest. I prefer not to participate than embarrass ourselves like Saudis.
No country in the world besides Iran and North korea have problems arranging friendlies. This is simply embarrassing.

So there isn't any money left from the millions John Kerry and co. released to i.r. in 2016? Can we ask Palestine and Hezbollah for $1-2 million? It's not much, they have a lot more. With that money we can also help the homeless children who sell flowers in our streets. Then after, maybe we can get a decent friendly from it too.

"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

It's not looking good! TM might end up with 1 or no friendly games in June!!!
Apparently FFIRI during the last month or so were thinking of playing Ecuador and Mexico in USA but due to Visa Issues could not go through with it and Nigeria replaced Iran! However let's not forget that FFIRI had previously claimed that they had setup friendly with USA before the World Cup draw. Now either there are people spreading rumors and media just writing them or FFIRI lied about USA friendly before.
Also FFIRI were trying to get TM to play in the Kirin Cup in Japan but that plan did not go ahead because of sponsor of the tournament.
I looked at CONCACAF Nations League schedule and can see that it is impossible for TM to play both Costa Rica and New Zealand not to mention a third friendly against Peru. So only one of these three can face TM in friendly. I seriously hope that TM don't play Qatar in friendly.
Now there are not many options left, in my opinion this is what they need to do. Match 1 and Match 2 of 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification are to be played on May 30 and Jun 14.
So options would be as follow:
June 2 friendly: Albania/Senegal/Ghana/Cameroon/Ivory Coast/Mali/Chile/Bolivia/Venezuela.
June 5 friendly: Senegal/Ghana/Cameroon/Ivory Coast/Mali/Chile/Bolivia/Venezuela/Estonia
June 9 friendly: Peru/Costa Rica/New Zealand/Senegal/Ghana/Cameroon/Ivory Coast/Mali/Chile/Bolivia/Venezuela/Iceland
June 13 friendly: Albania/Estonia/Chile/Bolivia/Venezuela
Anyways it seems FFIRI don't want more than 3 friendly in June!Last edited by Rooyintan; 04-27-2022, 05:05 AM.

Colombia would be another good option since it seems they won't travel to Asia for friendlies with South Korea and Japan. Paraguay and Brazil are going to Asia instead.Originally posted by rooyintan View PostIt's not looking good! TM might end up with 1 or no friendly games in June!!!

I sincerely hope the donkeys at IFF have this sort of information in front of them.Originally posted by rooyintan View PostIt's not looking good! TM might end up with 1 or no friendly games in June!!!

If they're relying on the foreign ministry writing letters to embassies, then let's just forget friendlies.
