Khalatbari was 100% good enough for Europe. I remember that guy was basically prime Franck Ribery. It's really a shame he wasted it all in Iran but he really was a talented player. And size doesn't mean anything in footy. Insigne, Verratti, Giovinco, Lanzini and so on.

Great to know he is still involved in football! They only TM moment for him I can recall was when we played Bosnia, he came in as a sub and from a cross from Mobali with his first touch put it into the goal. We won the game 3 to 2 if I recall.

I remember Shakhtar was inquiring about hm a few years back.
He had immense talent. that was overlooked by CQ in his first few years of ultra-ultra-defensive, park-the-bus-and-all-else-go-to-hell negative football years.

Other mentionable talent that faded away without a whimper: Reza Haghighi the CDM. tall, physical and young.
Same with Sharifi that made the rounds of IPL for a few years and then vanished int thin air!!!
Reza Haghighi's only contribution was coming in during the Argentina game, not marking Messi, and us losing the match lol. He moved to Thailand and was never seen again.

Half of youth team members, I don't remember all their names.
Sadegian wasted his life in gambling. Mentally messed up.
Yeah he seemed impossible to coach, and had a very poor mentality. Seems like the lack of a father figure really impacted him, he was very talented.

He is an insta model now and just posts the same type of photos with the same 2 guys every day lol

Does anyone remember when Younes Bahonar and Mamad Barzegar were the next big things of Iranian football in the post 1998 period. Wonder what they're up to now...
