Had a good start too, went to Rubin Kazan with Sardar. Zob Ahan really derailed his career by not letting him go, he did not play football for a while, from what I remember.

easily the most talented LB in recent TM history and a Shiraz sports icon.

Winger, defender, he could play anywhere...I know we talk about "utility" players, but he was literally a "utility" player, sticking with Bargh-eh Shiraz even when they relegated & he had offers from bigger clubs... he was a rock in the 2004 asian cup.... if it weren't for his injury during 06 qualifiers he could have started at the world cup and likely gone to europe after. Dropped by ghalenoi for no reason in ac2007. ultimately he was a victim of pro-Esfahani elements in IFF who couldn't stomach seeing a Shirazi advance up the ranks (but hey - that's esfahanis for you).

Great to know he is still involved in football! They only TM moment for him I can recall was when we played Bosnia, he came in as a sub and from a cross from Mobali with his first touch put it into the goal. We won the game 3 to 2 if I recall.

There was his nice goal against Croatia too when he faked the shot, then roofed it

he was head coach for barg shiraz for 5 years. havent heard of him last 4 years or so

One of CQ biggest mistakes IMO was leaving Khalatbari out of the 2014 wc squad. He could've been perfect for the Nigeria game when we needed individual skill

cq was changing the whole mentality of the team
to play defence as way to go and player like khalat did not
meet his standards of coming back helping out on d. u know khalat is a little trouble maker too

team to , and someone like khalat already in his 30s its hard to get with program.
