Their problem is similar to what plagues our national team; they have good forwards and good wings, but lack that good offensive midfielder that can be the link to those players and get the ball to them; Schick and Azmoun don't get much service from the middle. Everything is either from the sides on this team and if that does not work, there is no alternative. If you look at the team when they attack, there is always a big void in space right behind Schick/Azmoun.

They really miss Wirtz and have not done much to find a replacement for him since he went down. A player like Aranguiz is a good defensive midfielder and Demirbay is getting sucked into defending because their defense is so bad. So, it's either wings or nothing for them week in and week out.

Agreed. I expect their football to improve with Wirtz's return in the next weeks and maybe change of headcoach.

Completely agree, he looked more dangerous and was more involved than Schick who did next to nothing for the 60 mins he was on.

He made one lovely run but the ball wasn’t played to him. Linked up well with Adli, some good flick ons with his head. He controlled the ball well and linked up with his fellow attackers and then instantly made the run to find space and try to open up the defence.

His team is struggling, none of their offensive guys are doing well, but in the end you need to take certain risks to improve. Staying in Zenit, especially with current situation, was a death sentence for his career and would highlight a real problem with his mentality.
