Playing in a proper league now, so he has to adapt to the intensity. Will have a toll on his body until he gels in.

The good thing is he has some time with the end of this season to get to grips with a faster paced league.
Good to see him back on the pitch .

By the way people Allahyar has just come on for Hull.

To be fair Frimpong was out on his feet.

great result for them away to bayern. The no CF thing didnt really work so that worked in azmoun's favor long term.

I wouldnt read too much into his 5 mins, mainly just covering space defensively. He had a good run on Frimpong's breakaway but Sule made a strong tackle before the RB could pick his head up.

Expect him to have a bigger role off the bench vs Atalanta in midweek, and either a longer sub app or start vs Koln on the weekend.

More of a clock management sub than anything else. Coach was going for the tie.

From very little chances when Alario and Sardar came in, teammates were looking for Alario all time. Sardar need more time of course

I feel like he was sad that he got 3-4 minutes of game time on his debute.

BL is very fast paced. The conditioning of these players is insane.

Magath worked on Karimi for six months to get him into any shape

When the coach subbed in a defender for an offender I knew he was going for a draw. 1:1 is a good result for Leverkusen against he leading team in the BL. Also look at the head to head. The last time Leverkusen played BM they lost 5:1!

The main rason Azmoun only got a few minutes is that he has been traing with the team for less than a week, so his team mates and him don't know each others moves yet. If you look closely at Leverkusens offense, the players really know each others moves very well.

So give it some time. This is not at all unexpected and definitely zero reason for alarm! He'll probably be gradually be phased in and will soon get his first proper start against a weaker team in the BL.
