Barzegar because of Red card during qualification will miss games versus Qatar and Turkmenistan.
Sina Hatami is a CFW & a winger and a replacing candidate for first two games. He is 6', 2 inch shorted than Arya 6'2"but physically stronger.
He was member of U19, Started with Foulad U18, moved to Seaham U19, and Gol Gohar U20 before moving to Aluminium.
This season he played in 3 games total of 17 min.

I prefer to reserve judgement. So far Kia has shown he is the most able person or one of in Iran to distinguish/develop talent.

If he backs the u21 pool to be good enough moving forward I am sure he has his reasons. Whether he will be vindicated or not depends on performance/results.

Hopefully once again he can introduce some new talents and push the needle for them in their respective clubs (look at what happened in one camp with a totally unknown guy like limouchi).

Also seems like he is testing out a wide pool of players at the moment and the current list does not mean others may not play a big part in more critical games as this project is meant to be long term with olympics as main target.

One guy I am a bit surprised to not see is the young CF from tractor, Amir Ebrahimzadeh. Physically he seems a beast and real goalscoring phenomenon at younger ages. He apparently has offers from europe (incl. Leganes in Spain) and seems highly rated. Given his young age (18) and the fact as St. Mark says Barzegar is out of the country now i thought his inclusion could be attractive option.

It did not take more than a day that " U21 only " policy changed.
V3 reported,2, U23 players from Esteghlal , Rezaei (GK) & Khaghani (FW) will join U21 before going to Tashkent.
Both are much better players than those in the list in their position and can help the team in both ends.

Now that there are exceptions to the stated policy why limit to only two, why not Khodabandelo, Nasiri....

Fair enough and results is a good measure to judge. Hopefully there won't be "but we were younger "excuses .
This policy is not new in Iran At youth level was done in Iran with unsatisfactory results .They copy that from Japan youth program.

Japan is the only Asian country who still follow that but what works for Japan unlikely will work in Iran because their youth leagues are much organized with better planning and resources. They have youth teams for every age (15,16.17.19.21) and they attend may tournaments and get international experienced at early age. Despite better preparations 2016 was the last time they did well at AFCu23. That was in Qatar when Iran lost to Qatar and Japan (0:3).
They have a deferent program for their Olympic , last one at home.

Japan will participate in AFC U23 with U21 players with no exception but not for China games.
Their new list for Dubai games next week includes 3 legionaries Takashi (Dusseldorf), Koki (Lommel Sk),Kokubo ( B Benfica).

They will play Qatar and Croatia next week, Uzbekistan will play Saudi Arabia & UAE.

Last season he played for Sorkhposhan Pakdasht/Havadar as a DM. This season he moved to Nassaji Mazandaran and has played as a CB.He is reserve player for Janmaleki (23) and Shiri (35) but in their back 3 formation he is and starter.
He can play as a CB & DM.; He has size and strength. This season he has played 6 games, 5 as starter for total of 443 min.

فوتبال برای فوتبال یا تمرین و اردو برای دچار شدن به وحشت طلسم شکنی و این حرف های تکراری با عمر بیش از ۴ دهه؟ کدام یکی؟

مهدوی کیا تصمیم گرفته است که تیم امید را با هدف المپیک پاریس با زیر ۲۱ ساله ها بسازد. نمی دانیم این هدف گذاری چقدر در بازی های قهرمانی آسیا اجرا می شود اما درباره این تصمیم می توان به این نکته هم فکر کرد که بازیکن ۲۲-۲۳ ساله امروز چرا باید فرصت بازی در تیم امید را از دست بدهد؟
بازی در تیم امید می تواند آینده حرفه ای دیگری برایش بسازد که با فرض اجرای تصمیم مهدوی کیا، آن فرصت را از دست می دهد.
قابل درک است که بخواهیم برای صعود به المپیک پاریس تیم بسازیم،
اما یک نظر هم این است که بازیکن بالای ۲۱ سال که هنوز می تواند در تیم امید بازی کند، چرا باید از این فرصت محروم باشد؟
تصور کنید چند بازیکن فرضا در سن ۲۲ یا ۲۳ می توانند از نمایش در تیم امید، فرصت بازی در اروپا یا لیگ های قطر و امارات را به دست بیاورند. چرا باید این ویترین را نداشته باشند؟
در فوتبال ایران که سن پدیده شدن اغلب ۱۸ - ۱۹ سالگی نیست و مهدی طارمی در ۲۹ سالگی حسرت می خورد که چرا درخشش در اروپا برایش در ۱۹ سالگی رقم نخورده است، چگونه می توان به بازیکن ۲۲ ساله گفت که ما برای المپیک تیم می سازیم و شما در ۲۲ سالگی از بازی در تیم امید محروم هستی؟
