the uzbeks have a specific club just for u23 players that was founded just to help their olympic team. Most of their players play tohgheter in that club.

Yes almost half of their squad plays for Olympic team in their league . This is similar to some extent to Kia Academy U21 ( mostly U18-19) which play in Iran league 3 .
Kia Academy hope to advance to League 2 and one day to PGL. They started with their U17-18 years old players and now they are mostly consist of U18-20 players.
Uzbek Olympic team enjoy players from other clubs while Kia Academy is limited to one club.

Best place to monitor U21 players is Iran U21 league. this year Hafari, Foulad, Tractor and Nasaji were top 4 and Nasaji defeated Tractor for Championship.

Last time with Estili we t draw with them 2:2 but we lost to S Korea with Son and few Korean TM players.
Iran U23 also had Allahyar, Mohebbi, Ghaedi, Shekari, Gholami, aghasi....


Uzbekistan like Tajikistan invest heavily on their youth program don’t take defeat
Just during last month their U15 , U17, U19 has international games .

They learn from start to play as a team, unlike Iran.

Their streght is team play someting Japan do better , I doubt they can overcome Japan.

Saudi Arabia reached U23 Championship Final defeating Australia ( 1 red card).
KSA will face winner of Japan _ Uzbekistan game.
Short of unexpected Japan U21 will advance to the final.

Regarless of J_U result KSA U23 will face a U21 team.
KSA team consist of 11 U23 players + 12 U21 players.

Final & Championship game will be between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia

Twice this year these 2 teams has played against each other’s with 2:2 results once Uzbekistan losing by 2 goals.

Uzbekistan at home is undefeated and hope to win Championship.

They came very close to lose to Iraq but they advanced on PK
Iran with better plan, preparation and coaching could have reach the top.

There are good U23 teams who are member of CAFA: Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan.

Iranians should message both FFIRI and CAFA to tell them to start having an U23 CAFA Championship annually or every two years. Team Omid will benefit from participating in such tournament.

Earlier today Ilna News agency report regarding possible fraud by one of U23 player during AFC U23 championship in Tashkent.
According to this report a player had borrowed from several teammate with promise of repay upon return to Tehran but has made himself unavailable.


TM U23 Manager Faraz Fatemi response to the news with denial. He said this is first he hear about this and call it dirty rumour.

Ilna in response to Fatemi denial published copies of what appear to be payment transactions and insist of accuracy of their report.

No reaction so far from IFF or Mahdavikia.

According to Faraz Fatemi:

*-TM U21 will start training for Koyna 2022 starting July 24 .
*-List will be published by July 222.
*-U23 players won't be included.
*- Mahdavi Kia will return to Iran few days prior to July 24 for training.

An observation:

3 U21 players, Hazbavi, Kor , Rostami can play for U20 AFC U19 qualification and is possible to be called by U19 coach.
That is possibility for a difficult decision.
