Just taking the corner in the general box area and hoping it falls in front of a TM player won't work with 10 defenders in the box.

    .
Bahrain can’t park the bus. They need a win as much as we do.

The diference is that this was their home game and decision but this is supposed to be our home game. We should be able to choose the stadium in bahrain.

I swear if this was saudi or UAE they would change it instantly.

No one asked for bahrain national stadium. Bahrain has 5 other stadiums that the worst one is Muharraq Stadium. They could've given us Khalifa Sports City stadium or even al ahli stadium.

Here is the fun part which is gonna get you excited bro. Our game gainst Iraq is in the same stadium (Muharraq Stadium)! IFF should complain and get it changed! there is no way we gonna see a good game against iraq in that stadium!

Here is another fun part all of iraq's game is in that Muharraq Stadium ! Why? so Iraq can get used to it more than us! Our game against Cambodia is in Bahrain national stadium.

Exactly bro ! IFF should've checked it and changed! However I doubt it they can do anything about it! Lets see if they can change it against iraq.

Yea players got a chance to have some water because of that injury, but typically in weather that got the refs call a proper water break in each half.

It’s all on the players, they need to decide if they want to play in the next World Cup, if we can’t make it out this first round then we don’t deserve to be in the World Cup. Yes we are playing in Bahrain it’s unfortunate, we will also have to play in Qatar for the World Cup so what. Nothing must stop us from wanting to only win as Asia’s second best team.
You can thank this man for that:

    Some take-aways from today's match:

Credit to Dragan for his starting lineup and captain choice. Also credit to him for having a solid 5 subs relatively early on (the 3rd goal leadup with 3 player touches were all subs).

It was clear that the heat was stifling. Players were sluggish. Most of the starters will only have ~60 minutes in them for the next match. It is paramount that Dragan have a similar early second half plan for subs. Fortunately, we have a relatively deep bench to allow for this.

The choice of captainship and rotation was good. ARJ to start with and Karim to end with. Both with good language and diplomatic skills.

The "park the bus" approach will be used by every other team. It was clear that it was easily disrupting our passing game and frustrating our forwards. We have to be tighter and quicker in our lead ups to the goal. The corners will have to be laser sharp to Mehdi and Sardar (our best aerial team members). Just taking the corner in the general box area and hoping it falls in front of a TM player won't work with 10 defenders in the box.

It's the clear the Refs won't give any major calls to Iran (how many PK's should we have been awarded? I lost count). We need to rely on goals and goals only.

The effect of the lack of friendlies was evident. As others have said, the HK match was essentially a friendly/warm up for Bahrain. Similarly, the Cambodia match will be the friendly/warm up for Iraq.

Iran got what it wanted out of the game which was predictable and very much achievable even if you had Mes Rafsanjan there representing Iran ... but the other side of the story revealed the team still needs time to build and play as a strong side. The performance today was sub par and disappointing to say the least .. And I know the pitch was bad and the weather was hot!! So what!!

We beat Cambodia 14-0. What good did that do for our confidence?
