If you take out ARJ and the emotion and bias of Iranian fans, I genuinely reckon you'd struggle to find one member of that squad that could or would say they've not been given a chance to impress. Be it through injury or rotation, no player has been frozen out.

Mac Allister was probably the one who could have felt most aggrieved but then January came along and next thing you know Potter has him the central point of a side playing football peak Barcelona would be proud of. You love to see it.

Note Dan Burn's contribution in two of those ridiculously good team goals.

Whatever Burn's offensive contribution was on those two instances is overshadowed by his awful defending. The incident today aside, he is consistently dribbled past by any forward with above average speed, and misses his assignments on set pieces.

That performance against Adama Traore and Wolves was the single most shocking individual half of football I think I've seen in the top-flight. Although it makes his pocketing of Salah all the more impressive/confusing.

He was also a disaster in the match versus Leicester in mid-December.
If he had been Iranian, we'd have slaughtered him.

He doesn't leave for the same reason Bale and Ozil didn't leave their clubs for a long time. Money. He's getting paid handsomely and is using that leverage to control his future. Can't blame him.

Players who go to Qatar or China do the same as Jahanbakhsh, only difference is that they actually play football. What i'm trying to say is better play in Qatar etc than warm the bench at FC Brighton so maybe Alireza can move there as well?

                        Another great performance, I see.

MOTD commentator for today's game: "Wow, what a player Mac Allister is going to be. And only 22"

Oh to think what could have been.

Yes, they retain the coveted #15 spot. Please give Potter another 5 year contract extension.

                            Dear Alireza,

You have worked very hard to get to this point in your career. To play and showcase your abilities in some of the best leagues in this world was/is (hopefully) still your dream. I’ve seen you play football since you were 17, and we’ve all seen you grow as an athlete since your days at Damash. You left Holland in 2018 to the EPL because it was the next step in your career. The next step so you could grow as a footballer with Brighton. We are aware of the difficulties you’ve had to face at this football club. We know it’s not easy earning your spot in an EPL club. It takes a lot of strength and effort from an athlete, to always be physically and mentally prepared in such a top league like the Premier League.

We are also aware of your unfortunate injuries. We feel your frustrations and we want you to know that we’re all behind you to first, get well soon. We hope that once you’re healed up to please, really contemplate your future as a professional athlete. And not just with Brighton but maybe with your manager as well. We all know you have a close relationship with your professional manager. You’re both Iranian and he may feel like an uncle/father figure to you. We also know that you’re a super humble and genuine person. But sometimes in life we have to make tough decisions that we may come across as not nice or unappreciative. But that won’t be the case. We think maybe a manager change needs to happen so you can reach your goals. Maybe you need a better counselor by your side who can help guide you to a place where you can continue to accomplish your dreams. Somewhere your attributes are appreciated.

Sometimes as fans, we believe that you’re not being treated fairly. We go into countless rabbit hole of “ifs ands or buts”. Why is Jahanbakhsh sitting on the bench when we know he kills himself during practice to earn his place in the starting 11?

Lastly, money is very important. We all know about sanctions on Iran and the difficulties our people have to face back home. So we know that collecting on the money for yourself and your family could be a reason why you still haven’t left Brighton yet. Maybe it’s a deciding factor for you before you take your next step.

But you should also think about your football career. You started to play football because you love this game. We’re all proud of you for standing up for yourself last month and saying what needed to be said. If you don’t get the playing time that you need at this age with Brighton, you will only be doing yourself a disservice and continue to waste away. Missing weeks, months and worse, years of your potential on the bench or in the reserves won’t be good for you.

If any of what I said was offensive in any shape or form, I’m sorry. But it’s coming from a place of love and support from your fans who only want the best for you.
