I just wonder why it is that these stereotypes only apply to Iranian players and not someone from Burkina Faso, or Togo or whatever less developed African country.

African countries, as ex western colonies speak one of the western language, they are a lot in western countries so people are afraid to critize them.
Lot of African countries (even smaller ones like togo, gabon..) gave world class players to Europe

Last but not least, the political situation created strong stereotypes on Iran, making our country a carpet that the whole world (even small countries and some iranians) mock and wipe their feet.

I think the main concern that people are voicing is not that the manager cares about the players' race, but that the manager just buys into assumptions and stereotypes. Some of these managers just assume Brazilian player = good and Iranian player = bad. This doesn't necessarily mean they're racist, they're just buying into stereotypes and giving less wiggle room for mistakes when it comes to players from Iran that have a negative image in the media.

Managers spend more time watching the player than all of us. Players actually train the whole week with under staff eyes while we only see them during a match.
If they thought the player would make them closer to getting a good result they would pick him whatever is race is.

What you wrote about stereotypes is your own stereotype about foreign manager judging an iranian player over anything other than his footballing ability.
All managers care is getting results and picking a team which they think would be the best to compete based on the players showing at training and during matches.
And of course they may be wrong.

Who should continue to build near Antwerp? The possible successors of Leko

Ivan Leko was to leave for Shanghai SIPG FC. The board of Antwerp FC therefore has to look for a trainer again. VoetbalPrimeur.be was looking for the suitable successors.

Frank Vercauteren
Vercauteren has an interesting profile. He can build on the foundations that Leko brought to Antwerp. Fast, attacking football, something that Vercauteren also stands for. He now lives with his family in Russia. But if he gets the offer from Antwerp, he will certainly consider it. Earlier he would have been eyeing for the free place at Standard.

Bernd Storck
Storck is especially high on the list of Standard fans, but will also be a suitable coach for Antwerp. He has the necessary capabilities and has already shown that he can let a team play football. Storck is currently coaching in Slovakia. There he is doing well with a provisional second place.

Wim De Decker
De Decker is certainly good with the fans of Antwerp FC. He brought The Great Old back in first class and will not shy away from an adventure at 'his' Antwerp. He knows the club like the back of his hand and is a man of the house. The question, however, is whether he will bring Antwerp to the top. At KAA Gent it did not work very well, and it is also not certain whether he can build on Leko's skeleton.

Mark van Bommel
Van Bommel showed himself to PSV with attacking football. He is also good at dealing with players. His name counts in football, something Antwerp likes. He could certainly build on the contemporary vision of Antwerp FC. His experience is a bummer. Although he could be a good successor to Leko.

Marc Wilmots
Wilmots can count as a name in Belgian football. He is a good friend of D'Onofrio, and has previously appeared as a successor to Bölöni. As a club coach, he didn't prove too much, but he gets the benefit of the doubt. With the Red Devils he had lows and heights, just like in his other international periods. An interesting track.

Royal Antwerp FC is serious about conquering Club Brugge. Owner Paul Gheysens wants to win the Belgian national title and is willing to go far to realize his dream.

This is evident from the names circulating to succeed Ivan Leko who left for China. According to Het Nieuwsblad , Michel Preud'homme, Frank Vercauteren, Marc Wilmots, Ricardo Sa Pinto and even Patrick Vieira are on the wish list of The Great Old .

Especially the names of Preud'homme, Vercauteren and Vieira catch the eye. Those are not the first to be the best. Antwerp hopes to change course with the appointment of a top coach and keep Club Brugge from the title. We have to wait and see if that will work.

Funny how a few weeks after he tries to screw Beiro's position in Antwerp he has gone! These sort of goings/leavings don't happen over night. He must have had a definite knowledge of it months prior to actually leaving. It makes you wonder he deliberately tried to sting Beiro before leaving.

if it has the d'onofrio guys full aproval/is his man then I think tentatively good news for beira.

Remember it is d'onofrio who spearheaded the move to bring him from Iran, and was also constantly putting pressure on leko to play him sooner.

he was bound to be benched permanently and shipped back unceremoniously had that goozoo Leko woulda remained and the club looked likely continued their decent run of results till end of season..!? so doubt anything else woulda forced his hand to give ali a genuinely fair shot ever again under his leadership at the club..!
