This is your problem hoorad. You think too much about hypotheticals and paper talk. Maybe in a couple more windows you will start to understand. Links online or in theory dont mean jack shit. If milad had offers from top russian teams, he would have gone. If he had offers from PL teams, he would have gone. If he had offers from top 5 leagues, he would have gone. The fact he didnt means that he didnt have those offers. Sure its dissapointing, but its what happened/ is happening. So he needs to make the best of the situation, sign with a solid team that offers him a good paycheck and work from there. I bring up the lack of visibility bc when Hashemi was his agent he literally said that they had trouble getting scouts to watch his games in russia, esp bc it was in chechnya, and PAGs games in qatar. It is definitely a factor. Bauer was a well known player from his time in austria and Bastos had shown himself in a title challenge with rostov and in European competition. Not the same.

And with regards to top russian teams, thats probably the weirdest for me since they have knwledge of his strengths. But you can even logically explain that. RPLs new foreign player rule is qutie restrictive and milad is at best slightly better than the decent russian LBs in the league. He isn't worth somebody like lokomotiv using a now precious foreign player spot on. Spartak have young excellent LB Ayrton, Zenit now have Douglas who is a really good player, Krasnodar have Ramirez and Skopintsev neither of whom milad is better than (probably similar level to both), Lokomotiv have Rybus who was getting solid mins at Lyon just a couple years ago, CSKA already have a young foreign LB as well.

The only team that could feasibly get him was Dynamo Moscow and they seemed to have offered and milad didnt want to go there.

^ Good logic based on which, it's not really underwhelming. It's actually a good move.

Guys agents and intermediatory companies are sadly an important part of football. Our players also have less value due to sanctions meaning that merchandising and sales will be nothing in their home country.

All things considered, Milad (who is my favourite TM player) move to Gent is good. He still has development to do in terms of the offensive parts of his game which I feel is wasted given how much pace and strength he has, Belgium will be a good place for him to do this.

Gent just signed Chekvetadze and David, their highly rated attacking mids, both 19, two fresh long term contracts. Coupled with the recent qualification for Europa League, milads signing, signing of highly rated Lyon youngster Owusu, they have a good chance to progress in Europa League and challenge for League if they could get maybe 1-2 more players in. Good situation to be in.

They also have a beautiful stadium and recently constructed state of the art training center. I think in the end milads lack of offensive output recently and not starting at the world cup means he was a backup options for many clubs, even with his free agent status. I think that playing in a top table belgian team instead of a midtable russian team will allow him to showcase his offensive potential much more.

hes in rostov and training with team I guess. They are still incentivized to sell him considering them having too many foreign players and he is enterring the last year of his contract, but any move will go down to the wire because reading still need to get finances in check before they can sign new players (they have only brought in 1 backup keeper on a loan thus far). Thats his most likely destination, unless a new team emerges which seems unlikely given the lack of his regular game time in the last 12 months.

We may feel milads move is underwhelming, but somebody like exatolahi who is 1000x the footballer, talent, prospect, asset that milad is cant get an offer from a team the level of gent.
