At the very least, it does restore some regularity for the players, allows them to continue to learn to work together on the field, and possibly earn some more points for FIFA rankings and WCQ/WC seeding

Yes. Although what a coach might fix is patching the team of players we cant use anymore. We need to replace Dejagah/Shojaei/Montazeri and possibly Ebrahimi in our player pool.

Then we need to look for solid RB/LB options behind Mohammadi and possibly over Rezaian/Ghafouri.

Having a proper CAM wouldnt hurt either.

He used “tars” (don’t know what he exactly said in English), as in CQ’s tactics (or he himself) were “tarsi” and that it projected over to the players in that particular game against Japan. He said other things that made sense and he also said that he likes CQ and that he believes he’s a good coach. Don’t quite understand where you got the “pussy” part from.

I highly doubt Schafer called Carlos a p***y. He has praised Carlos Queiroz since day 1 when others stayed quiet. Sure he has expressed his indifference in tactics but he has never disrespected any head coach let alone Carlos Queiroz.

Also, he would never use such a word when his daughter is a women’s rights activist and defends Iranian women. Think about it. This is false translating aziz.

Please try and not mistranslate because there are young Iranians on the forum who do not read Farsi well and some don’t read at all.

LOOOL....guys that word comes from Iran_19 himself. P***y also means "tarsoo" in spoken English!

Of course Schäfer did not use the word when giving the interview. It has a negative ring.

Honestly players who warm the bench constantly such as Abdezadeh, Kaveh, Karim don't deserve the call. Lets give Alipour a chance.

I'm for it to finally put it to bed.

His attitude is not fit for a national team. He will most likely turn out to be Rahmati/Aghili/Jabbari-esque in behavior.

Of course he didn’t use that word and that’s my concern with Iran_19’s translation of “tars”. It says “...moshkele bozorg shayad tars bood”, which translates in a big problem was scariness (of the opposition I guess). That’s something different than saying “mr. X called mr. Y a pussy”, which comes across more as someone insulting or throwing “fohsh” to someone else.

I’m sure Iran_19 didn’t mean any harm and didn’t have any agenda with it though. I was just pointing it out to avoid any misunderstanding for people who can’t read Farsi.

If Alipour deserved a chance, he would have been called up already, and likely would have stayed on the bench as well.

If these guys who've played in Europe for a while now, still can't get a minute, what has Alipour done to deserve it? He's still playing in IPL.
It's an unfortunate thing, and I wish IPL was strong and had a good reputation, but it's the direct opposite.
