i like Zenit's new kit too ..... much better color-blocking than the last year's and i favor the polo collar too..!! if he doesnt leave .... i might buy one..!!?

zenit are supercup champs. Loko put some pressure late on with aerial balls and set pieces but in the end wasnt enough.

Zenit look tired after no proper break but I think they will hit stride again. In a way it helps not to have 3 month lay off and just continue with fitness levels. They had a good enough break bc of covid.

Sardar looked a bit out of it and not involved a lot, but hes only trained for a couple days before this so not unexpected.

Lovren was good and nice addition. Need another CB for depth purposes, probably another reserve wing, and ideally a top CM to really be a threat in CL (not just skirt luckily to RO16).

disappointing performance overall..!! ran a bunch but not to much effect .... too much kabobing on the holiday or long flight back perhaps..??

he probably had to perform admirably in such a match to keep his name high up in the marketplace ..!!

they definitely shoulda kept hold of Ivanovic, and added Lovern for depth and more rest opportunities for the old man ivanovic to save his legs for the more important matchups..!

lovren has been their best player this game. Another great tackle. Ivanovic was a great leader but in the crunch CL matches couldnt cut it just bc of speed + age. to justify his salary and contract length demands.

Thankfully they havent taken up option for venezuelan guy from porto. He was actually great physically and very fast but had too many lapses in concentration

lovren is an upgrade. But losing ivanovic was still bad for depth. They will add 1 more CB before window is open (foreigner).

RAkitskiy - Lovren duo is big upgrade for CL purposes especially because it gives them wayyyyy more speed than ivanovic-rakitskiy pairing.

sardar was on the spot for a laashkhori and ready to pounce on any possible rebound if the keeper managed a touch...!

overall meh performance from Sardar this half..! barring a bit more Intentful defensive pull back and hustle he didnt do much else noteworthy..!

as before he still shows way too much of the balls when trying to get by his markers and lacks much if any fancy footwork required to unsettle his man and get by him..!

this Lovern dude better be good..? that is huge hole left behind by the captain..!!
their other replacement CBs are shitt and as much as their wingbacks push up they rely way too much defensively on the CB duo..!! if this Lovern guy can't fill the void left by the captain adequately enough zenit will be very susceptible to quick counter conceded goals and it'll be a real quick exit outa of the CL group stages for them as well..!
