He should've cut off the defender by getting in front of him in his run up. Something like what Taremi did vs Russia OR at that point once he juked the defender he should've went for the left foot finish.Originally posted by diz View PostThe goal Sardar missed (denied by the post) was actually a far better demonstration of his skills, control, and attacking IQ:

He actually beat the defender and outplayed the goalie. Just unlucky to get denied by the post. Very promising for what's to come this season though.Originally posted by Ali Doust View PostHe should've cut off the defender by getting in front of him in his run up. Come on man, his cut back took the defender out of the game, his outside of the foot finish showed confidence and was as effective as a left foot finish with the right contact, which he got. He was unlucky and hit the post.Originally posted by Ali Doust View PostHe should've cut off the defender by getting in front of him in his run up. Sardar's conditioning, technique and finishing has never been better. On top of that, he is having fun while playing with a lot of confidence. The chemistry with his teammates is nothing short of amazing. I have no doubt that if he continues like this and stays healthy, he will create many memorable moments in CL games in addition to RPL.
Go Sardar!

the cut-back was sublime and the audacity and confidence to try to hit far post with outside of his foot..!! wow..!!

besides what MR referenced below, i also think another reason for him missing his fair share of 1v1s has also bit to do with his too cool for school demeanor and him trying too hard to be calm and lacking the necessary commitment, hustle and determination to see it through..!!

would be a sick move for zenit. Malcom was one of the highest rated wingers just 6 months ago, and even did ok in his limited game time for barca.
Still I would be surprised if it went thru given the likes of everton, dortmund, others are all highly interested.
But lining up with Azmoun--Dzyuba up top and Driussi and Malcom with Barrios and a new CM in the middle and still having options like erokhin, kuzyaev, shatov would give them a solid platform for CL for sure.

zenits issue is that the foreign player cap. Their only servicable russian players are dzyuba, erokhin, smolnikov, and lunev . Zhirkov is past his sell date, kuzyaev is an excellent player but rarely fully fit. Sutormin seems pretty average at best.
In CL, they would be able to field as many foreigners as they like I think, but this issue would be the amount of game time those players have together as they cant be in the league together. For example, their strongest team would look something like this including new signings.
---------------------Lunev--------------
smolnikov---Mammana---Rakistskiy---Douglas
Malcom-----Barrios------Kuzyaev------Driussi
------------Azmoun-----Dzyuba---------------
