Unfortunately, I genuinely believe that he had no better offers. He clearly stated that money is no longer priority and he wanted to play in a top league and the fact that he's joined Trabzan shows that this was his best option. Hopefully he will shine there and at least move to a top 3 Turkish team next season. Best of luck.

26 for an defender isn't that old. He can still improve and go to a top league in two years. Good move for him!

like someone says, iranian players are too kind with european clubs (e.g Ghoddos case). For example, JB's agent(who is PAG agent aswell) should have asked brighton to sign free agent PAG in addition of JB. Otherwise, he would have accepted Leicester last minute offers.

Solidifying a central defensive partnership is key to any team. Having Hosseini and Morteza play week in week out will be beneficial although it is disappointing as he could compete at a higher level. At least he got out of Qatar

This transfer is nothing to be proud of considering Pouraliganji's performance at the World Cup.

He has been and is one of the best Asian CB's out there currently and doesn't even go to a bottom team in a top 5 league.

He will be earning around 9 billion toman per season
We are currently witnessing a revolution in Iranian football. Team Melli has never been stronger than it is today, and we will only get better.

Most disappointing transfer of the window by a long shot.

Before, it was possible to lure european clubs with good WC performances. Now, these european clubs discovered that lots of these WC revelations were rather disappointing during a season.

That's why they are more suspiscious. I thing Arsene Wenger told this one day. For example, Costa Rica WC14 team didn't flood european top leagues after their quarter of final.

Unfortunatly we miss the train in missing WC2002 & 2010 and waiting to long to qualify from a WC group stage.

Whatever you want to say, he has improved in the stature of the league and team he was playing in previously. That is the most important thing.

Just following up on many posters here, is it CQ’ system or the players? What I mean is that maybe our players are a bit overrated to us and it’s CQ’s system that makes them so much better. You see examples of these situation in sports such as American football or basketball. You take said player out of that system and their performance drops.

Well said. PG cant be judged only on his wc performance. This is a center defender who plays in Qatar last 2-3 years. And before that he played in China. What do you think when some say Qatar ore China? Easy earned money. No team in top three league will
Go for that after his 200+min.
He is going to a way good league if he performs well and is as any here say good enough for top leagues , they will buy him.

The problem is the exact opposite.

CQ defends with 10 players. That means individual defensive performances are devalued. Sure Ezzi and PAG might have done a decent job at stopping Spanish and Portuguese players, but that had alot to do with the fact that the opponent's attackers had no where to go since they were surrounded by Iranians. Now if PAG and Ezzi made these same stops/tackles while playing normal football, then we would see them signing with top 4 leagues.
