Final ranking after Group phase

There is kind of a semi-official ranking after each world cup

If I see that right, right now there are 11 teams that are definitely behind us and cannot reach 4 points anymore, making us at least 21st - compared to 28th last time.

With some luck we could at least be the "best" team that didnt make the knockout phase.
Teams behind us:
Egypt 0, Saudi-Arabia 3, Morocco 1, Australia 1, Peru 3, at least one team from group D will have less than 4, Costa Rica 0, South Korea 0, Panama 0, Tunisia 0, Poland 0
And probably some more teams will be added to this list.

Right now we are definitely better (=more points) than all the other 14 teams that did not qualify for knockout. Secured 18th place. Actually we are even better than Argentina, because they 4 points but -2 on goal difference. It all depends on the last group, but it is pretty probable that we will be the best team that did not make it to the knockout stage, therefore 17th.

not necessarily. Our performance was better than almost half of the teams at the WC, all of which were in far easier groups! 4 pts from morocco, spain, portugal, and a GD of 0 is very respectable for a team of our capabilities.

Senegal unfortunately became 3rd with 4 points and 0 goal difference, but with 4 goals shot. We will be 18th in the overall ranking and therefore 2nd of the teams that did not make it to the knockout stage.

It's such bs that Japan advanced. They were in the easiest group of the entire WC and only managed to get through based on the fact that they had fewer yellow cards. They only got 4 points in that cakewalk of a group with the same record as us in the toughest group, and yet we were eliminated? Why do we always get the toughest group while the rest of Asia gets in the easiest groups?
