Possession is a form of defence and also a formula to tire your opponent by making them re calculate positions and run too much. Creation of opportunities isn’t the essence of the final picture in terms of those that use this method (those good enough to do it)... It’s all about the change of pace once in the correct areas to move opponents out of position.

yes, and Messi was 4 years younger in 2014 which is significant when you consider how much Argentina depends on Messi. That Argentina team finished 2nd in the world. This one barely qualified for the WC. Hopefully you see the difference.Originally posted by Hoorad View PostOk and? So? They still relied on Messi back then as they do now. It doesn't matter if they barely qualified they are still miles above Iceland's quality and Iceland are putting up a fight. Hopefully you see the difference.Originally posted by OFFSIDE_1 View Postyes, and Messi was 4 years younger in 2014 which is significant when you consider how much Argentina depends on Messi. How is it nonsense? Argentina has more of football culture than Iceland with a higher population and Football is relatively new in Iceland, so your point is invalid.Originally posted by Azeem98 View PostGuys quit it with this population nonsense, look at Uruguay its about Football culture or simply that talent isn't there.

Iceland isn't new to football, they have recently started to invest in football and have developed their football culture.Originally posted by Hoorad View PostHow is it nonsense? I'm not saying that specially for this game, population comes secondary if you don't have a footballing culture.
Look at Uruguay they were better than Brazil and Argentina in the early 1900s and still are far better than the likes of England.
