So what’s the purpose of cutting the list to 24?
Apparently Gholizadeh still travels with the team to Russia but can’t play. ThAts going to be the case for about 5 or 7 other players too so I don’t get it. Happy that he at least gets to experience the WC.

probably for last minute change, if dejagah can not play or become match fit it will be possible to change them? or for training matches they need one more player for their training programs, and he can collect world cup atmosphere and experience and he is young, so this brings him something..

He really is. He has basically been clubless since the end of 2014 WC and he comes back and still does circles around most TM players. Playing in Bundesliga and German Youth team truly has taken him a long way

I agree with you on this about Dejagah, but what do you think about Shojaei? He was always bad at maintaining possession at World Cup.

because he plays so slow and has the most non chalant style of play ever. Sorry but he isnt pirlo. Dejagah is our best player,in terms of experience and effectiveness, and thats just a fact.

Shojaei is good for slowing the game down but god damn when he is pressed he is bad at times. Ya sometimes he can dinkle here and there and free up space but the other 80% of the time he falls off the ground like against turkey smh. To me he is a liability but i think he starts

highly doubt CQ starts him unless it is at CAM. There is no way he will play defensive mid or deeper, the guy can hardly run lol.

Here is how I look at it ...
This World Cup we will play against TWO of the top 10 teams in the world.
No money paid by us .
No sanctions can stop these games .
OUR players will be seen by EVERY MANAGER of EVERY CLUB in Spain and Portugal as well as most managers all over the world.
OUR players will know this too. There is no need for MOTIVATION.
We have a great blend of youth and experience. EVEN the young ones like Azmoun and PAG have the AsianCup experience to go on.
My DREAM is .... for GUCCI to come on as a sub and score 2 goals that beat Morocco .
..... we then park the bus vs. Spain and hope for the best ....
I don't see Portugal beating Spain. But they will have no choice but to beat Morocco.
Meaning the final match will be a knock out match.
It ALL starts with beating Morocco. I am not surprised he picked that many forwards. The one on FORM will start and the ones CLOSE will be on bench.
They will ALL be required to press high when the other team has the ball which means one HAS to be subbed out around 70 mins.
Also DEJAGAH has NEVER been able to finish a big game where he ran a lot, and he is NOT match fit. So his replacement may well be SHOJAEI in all games.
Our most VITAL player ?
OMID EBRAHIMI in game 1 ... he has to replace EZZTOLAHI and play the game of his life .... we all need to pray he is not over-whelmed by it all
.... I don't see SHOJAEI in that role. He proved v.s Turkey that he is not ready for that job.
Then it's all about JAHANBAKSH. With some luck he can be a surprise STAR of the first round and his name will become familiar to every Soccer fan by July.
And of course, we are all going to be delighted if that talent that we all know AZMOUN is blessed with gets to finally be showcased in the world's biggest football tournament.

One week before the World Cup - with IRAN in it ... AGAIN ... wow.
Such an exciting time. We have NEVER had this feeling four years apart. THAT ALONE is something I am grateful for.
