Lol bro I get that anyone with basic logic can figure out his plans, but why would he go out and say "I need only one offensive RB because I need a player who sits back on the right side." Not only is this dumb and would never come out of any coach's mouth, but he really doesn't owe anyone any kind of explanation like that. I for one think that he shouldn't have even gone that far in elaborating on why he excluded Vouria. A simple "I picked the RBs based on our tactical needs" would have been more than enough and he didn't owe anyone anything more.
So while I agree with you that he shouldn't have provided that explanation, I disagree that his comment created hashieh; blame the low IQ club fans and the haters in Iran for creating the hashieh. Any normal fanbase would just accept it rather than causing drama before the tournament.

Schaeffer even said Vouria played RM only around 15% of SS games and that was in emergency situations. come on Saam, u cant say this reasoning has not had any adverse effects on such a debatable decision of omitting the best IPL player of second half of season

I think some are just so excited about the World Cup that they want something to argue over. The list is made guys, neither Ghafouri, nor Hosseini is complaining about their exclusion! It is outsiders like fans, and ex-footballers doing all of the complaining!

We will not change CQ's decision, as Belgian fans will not change their managers choice to exclude Naingolan. What is the point of bickering and negativity? CQ made his decision, and barring any major issues, they will be representing us in Russia.

I think some should just move on, what will our complaints do? CQ's teams are always focused, and we don't need outside distractions this close to the tournament! Many have been crying for new young players to be given a chance, CQ literally replaces 2 older players with M. Hosseini and Gholizadeh, and people are complaining! Make up your mind! Either we can repeat 2006 by relying on aging players to save us, or we can blaze a new trail, and be one of the youngest teams in Russia, and move a player like M. Hosseini to the Bundesliga or Serie A.

This is a long term thing. We won't win this World Cup guys, sorry! We will do as well as we can, and be set up with young experienced players for the future. A team that can develop and get major results in the Asian Cup and Qatar 2022. We are hoping Jalal Hosseini will somehow make us a tiny bit better to luck into a win or two, but M. Hosseini can do the same. We will need major luck to escape this group anyway.

CQ is building for TM's future, giving players who still have time and room to develop a chance. All for TM! Stop the negativity, focus on the positives!

Yeah I agree he explained too much. I don't know, it was a mistake on his part but I care more about the actual selections than the stories surrounding who wasn't selected. While it sucks for Ghafouri, when it comes to Iran as opposed to clubs, I don't really care much about individuals and care more for the team going forward.

It doesn't seem to have affected the mood of the camp or anything so it's not that big of a deal.

relax buddy, the whole purpose of this forum is to talk, question and exchange ideas and opinions. i dont think anyone here is trying to change Queiroz mind.

Everyone has a right to express their opinion, as does Mayeli Kohan. The issue is, 3 weeks before the world cup, there is no benefit to filling forums, instagram, facebook, etc. with complaints to CQ. He gets it, these are difficult decisions. If CQ was a bad actor, Seyed Jalal or Ghafouri would have spoken out.

We don't know what happened, CQ likely gave these soldiers a reasonable explanation for his choice. They aren't creating hashieh, and although you and others like Karimi have a right to speak your minds, for the good of TM performance it does more detriment 3 weeks away from the world cup than anything productive.

Go ahead and speak your mind and vent, but just know that thousands of people are doing similar complaints, and all of these together can negatively affect the minds of our TM staff before the cup. On the other hand, positivity and belief can provide a major boost in confidence.

jalal hosseini, if really not in the team by june 4, should be taken by querioz as "leader" and captain out of the field and for younger players. he should be around the team, i wish him at least this way his last world cup experience...

It is not very easy to avoid the opinions of fans, especially Iranians. We brigade social media, and that even spills out into real life interactions. Don't be surprised if some fed up fans confront the team/CQ in the hotel because he doesn't agree with the decisions.

They're professional athletes and coaches. It's what they signed up for. If they couldn't handle criticism, they wouldn't be where they are.

Who can argue against the fact that at least on the physical level, both M.Hosseini and Khanzadeh will outperform Seyed Jalal and Ghafouri?? Anyone?

I don't think so.

So if they are physically more fit, faster and with more stamina, then the old-timers must really be way better players to have earned a place in the squad in stead of them. And I am pretty darn sure they are not cause if they were that much better footballers or shall we say defenders, then I have no doubt that they would have been picked by CQ.

Regarding exclusion of rezaei, hosseini, ghafouri, my thoughts below...

Rezaei: this was a tough exclusion given how well he’s been playing in Europe. Azmoun is our clear #1 guy, quieroz feels like he can play ansarifard in multiple positions, and gucci is his favorite option for coming on for 15-20 minutes to try and get a goal. Simply put, quieroz is going with the guys he knows best. Hope kaveh gets a chance in asian cup

Hosseini: as another user displayed, he simply has not been in use for team Melli, judging by his minutes. It now makes a lot of sense why he did not play against Tunisia and Algeria, who were our most important preparations for Morocco. Whether his exclusion for someone like khanzadeh pays off remains to be seen. Quieroz will face a lot of criticism of his CB duo at the world up struggle!

Ghafouri: he has had a great year but can only play RB. Rezaian is preferred for quieroz simply cause of his European experience and attacking abilities. Ghafouri can play RW but we already have jahanbaksh, torabi, karim, even gholizadeh. For backup, he has khanzadeh and montazeri.

Only 23 spots per team, and 3 are goalie. That leaves 10 for field players and 10 as “backups”. If you want to bring the likes of Gucci, karim, shojaei, ghoddos, torabi. You have to make room! A true backup RB was sacrificed for this

We will see what fins roster is and if it pays off. If I’m not mistaken, we have 24 guys and still need to cut 1 more

like Baggi said, if TM is actually sitting and reading Yashar from Toronto's comments and losing their concentration at training or losing sleep over it, we are in big trouble...
