Wow, my prediction came true. The reason why I believe he did this was so that Torabi can get the opportunity to get purchased to a European Club.

My feeling is also that CQ will eventually renew some kind of contract with Iran, since his desire to coach our team and go to another WC is strong, considering the next WC will be in Qatar and could be much easier compared to this years. After all, everyone is after fame and he wants a good European based squad in the 4 years.

In a way I like this decision. If CQ had dropped anyone in favor of anyone from the standby list, it would have been a sign of confusion.
