Nobody is disagreeing that a healthy Ashkan is one the best players to ever put on a TM shirt! The problem is that taking the dude is a liability because based on his recent form he might end up getting injured within 15 minutes of stepping on the field and wasting spot.

I don't get the logic of "let essentially start the world-cup with 22 players because nobody is as good as Ashkan".

Anyways, I hope he gets healthy soon because we are super thing on Midfield and I don't want to see Karim Ansarifard play MF ever again.

Even if Dejagah can only give TM 45 mins of play per game , he is still our best midfielder

Without a doubt and worth keeping in our roster for the WC.

There's a reason why we have Gholizadeh there as a backup, if they don't think Ashkan can contribute, he can be called upon. And we have Shojaei and Ghoddos for the Ashkan advanced playmaker role so it's all good. Keep calm, people.

World Cup Daily: Nike stops supplying boots to Iran, Mo Salah in doubt, Belgium in hot form
          News Corp Australia
          June 12, 2018 5:11am
US sporting goods giant Nike confirmed Monday it had stopped supplying Iran’s football team with boots ahead of the World Cup due to sanctions.

A statement from Nike said the company was forbidden from supplying kit to the Iranian team as it prepares for its opening World Cup game.

“US sanctions mean that, as a US company, Nike cannot supply shoes to players in the Iranian National team at this time,” Nike said.

“Sanctions applicable to NIKE have been in place for many years and are enforceable by law.”

( Iran's Mehdi Taremi (R) celebrates with his teammates Sardar Azmoun (C) and Alireza Jahan Bakhsh after scoring a goal during the World Cup 2018 Asia qualifying against Qatar. Iran has lost its boot supplier in Nike.
An ESPN report from Moscow said the Nike decision had left Iranian football officials baffled, noting that the US company had supplied the team at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil when similar sanctions were in effect.

Iran coach Carlos Queiroz expressed frustration at the decision. “Players get used to their sports equipment, and it’s not right to change them a week before such important matches,” ESPN quoted Queiroz as saying.

The ESPN report said Iran’s players had responded to the decision by asking non-Iranian players on their club teams to loan them boots, while others had bought their own from stores.

Report: Dejagah doubtful and most likely misses clash vs. Morocco.

Great, we went to the World Cup with 22 man squad - sadly, we knew that the first second that Dejagah was selected.

                  My sentiments too.
I assume he will be used sparingly. And no problem with that. A lot of teams/coaches have "impact" players who come in to make a difference. Even if it's for 20-30 minutes.

No worries, CQ is messing with “you know Who”?

Ashkan will be up and running at the Moroccans like the Road Runner!

Apparently its not true and he will be ready, but he won't start.. He'll come off the bench.

Really want to see Ghoddos get actual playing time..

You know that's actually a potent combination. Have Ghoddos start, and at the last 20 minutes bring in Dejagah for the boost the team needs.

guys please, dejagah is not unable to play any part in three matches. His presence alone is much more valuable than that of say another forward Kaveh, who wouldnt even touch the field. Dejagah's experience and leadership is really rare in this young team, where only pejman and masoud fall into that category. Im sure he will play minutes, it seems he cant start, but thats okay. Ghoddos will be even more key now.

Take him as a coach then and give the spot to someone who's actually able to play.
