Lmao just checked his opponents. 8 of his goals came against 190th ranked Timor-Leste. Apart from the deflected Spain goal that was purely luck - his most formidable opponent was Australia.

exactly. We need our players to work their asses off to get there, and then show the world iranian players have always been at the level required, creating a lot of interest in a "hidden" iranian market. For example : ARJ, Ghoddos, Azmoun are all on the world radar and big clubs cant believe they are playing for such crappy teams. If they go and succeed in top leagues which I believe will happen after WC, all of the sudden teams will just look to iranian market, other TM players like PAG, Taremi, Alipour, Mohammadi, Ezatolahi. This is way more beneficial than just forcing ourselves onto a league, where our players will be hated by management and players, who will never looks to bring in a saudi player again.

Yeah, but unlike the Saudis-in-Audis, our players can actually compete at that level.

They did the same thing vs Australia in Melbourne, justifying that it wasn't part of their culture.

I believe they simply lack any kind of culture. Let alone respecting some innocent victims.
