It's the ones like Salah, Marmoush, Trezeguet etc. who came through the ranks of smaller clubs and left to Europe. I see 3-4 players making the jump after the WC, especially our fullbacks.

Kastro my guy, what's your boy Mahmoud Hassan "Trézéguet" doing?

we are beyond delusional. we've never come close to having a salah level talent. you watch EPL games and both arsenal and liverpool feature japanese players in their starting lineups. the koreans have Son...they had park ji sung before that. if anything iran's NT has overachieved given the lack of relative success our players have had in europe vs. japan, korea, australia

We have the potential to have world class players but unfortunately we lack the opportunities and sometimes the will and ambition to reach this kind of level.
It's like if our brilliant students were denied access to the best universities

if that ankle didnt stop him and then if he extended at bayern and stayed.. we already had one.

plus those teams have one star, and the rest is so far below.. same with bale and wales for an example or haaland and norway.
we have 2 good stars upfront, azmoun and taremi, creating a good duo instead, a good midfield and ok ish defence + good goalie. so we have a compentent team. just need to have practice and time together and it will be o k . I rather have two almost superstars upfront and good team behind, than one superstar and the rest being crapish.

plus i can se some of our young ones going far, allahyar can go far if he leaves the europe backyard now.
we just need to invest in our youths and have academies from the clubs with better planning, investing long term and then soon we will have talents poppin up everywhere..

and sometimes the clubs just trip our players.. they are rotten.. as an example, every player talking out (listen to all the stories in yazdah show its mindblowing) and take ghaedi for an example, he wanted to europe, but club wanted to get most money and sold to qatar.. they could have sold to eurpe and baked in a selling claus aswell but.., they took most money and sold.

If only Ali Karimi was 20 today..........., it was his own fault, he should have moved out of UAE, no matter to where, even if he went to Ukraine or Russia

It is both the player fault and lack of European club interest.

I remember Karimi had an offer from Atletico before moving to UAE.

Halaa who needs this Salah Malah. The real question is: can the world produce another talents like Reza Enayati,Talebloo and the Zareh brothers?

/ btw atletic at that time was like getting a offer from alaves today, it wasnt atletic of today. Still it would be great if he went.

For 1.5 seasons at bayern, he was.... But his career was over after that.

He didn't even want to stay in Europe and keep trying to get back into form.

He went back to Asia and rotted away in misery.

Let's not forget that Karimi had an offer to join Atletico Madrid in his low 20's and he decided to play in UAE instead and went to Bayern when he was 27ish.

Either he just had a lack of ambition, or he was happy with the "take it easy, no need to be on time for every practice, no need to be so professional" lifestyle in middle East, or perhaps he had stuff going on at home that he wanted to stay close to.

Regardless, it's really too bad because he definitely could have been one of the very best in the world had he made different choices earlier in his career.

Haha I'll forgive him as it's first match back since April when he got injured.

bingo bingo bingo. what he did this year is historic. plus, he has been absolutely great at the national team level. some greats only do well at club and not at national level (called 'saving their legs')
