a very quick and clinical counter attack, Kia forward (Hajizadeh?) with very unselfish and smart assist to bavieh who finished off the move. Seems Chamanian is again opting for the same, physical, smart counter attacking style of previous u17 that was so successful on world stage.

another similarly effective counter attack, unselfish play in front goal.
Azerbaijan just scored of PK, but it wasnt a pk. GK came out and got the ball, but ref called foul. GK guessed right way and nearly saved.
          4-1 now.

                        Not a good game.
iran U16 was tired for the second half.
Iran played 3 of their U14 players.
Azari team was older and they won most of 1 to 1 contacts.

A younger Iran thrashing an older Azari team on their home soil not a good game?

I think that’s a bit harsh on these youngsters.

there isnt a lot to complain about which i guess makes some uncomfortable. Given the circumstances it was a good victory.

Yes, it is harsh and that is the idea.
Results from friendly games such as these too games are not as important as performance. Unlike official games, the objective is not solely winning.
1-U16 gave too many opportunities to Azerbaijan to score. During Championship games in a few months, opponents like Iraq, Australia, Korea, orJapann will not miss those opportunities.
2- Iran played ok for the first half but run out of steam for the second half. They were not ready for a physical game.
3-Our CD players Shaverdi & Hazbavi were ok, but Hazbavi who is our best defender was not ready for the full game. Just like Shariati he has to gain weight and muscles.
4- MF was disorganized in the second half.
Two years ago Iran reached final, lost in PK to Iraq, for this team to have the same chance they have only a few months to improve.
We will see how they will do on Tuesday against the same team.
Iran should advance from group stage (VN, India, Indonesia) but they will face one of Iraq, Korea, Australia team after.
