You have to respect his commitment to his team. Just as jahanbakhsh stayed with NEC after relegation, it speaks volumes to the player's general attitude that he would stay to see through what he started with them (the Europa run) than to chase a 5 month headstart on a higher level league

It is the safer move. He made the right decision in a World Cup year. Often, going to a more competitive league can cause a player’s form to dip as they get their footing, as well as injuries due to the higher tempo of the top leagues. I think staying is recommended by his advisors and less out of any loyalty to the team. For himself, it is a good idea to not drastically change his situation just months before the World Cup. Not really. Still agree that they play hella good in Emirates but if you have watched their matches lately they can’t create much away from home and they look undisciplined. Thats why they are 6th in the league.
