China is weak but we have to be careful of their good free-kick taker.

I hope we win the game against China, but even if we win this game and advance from this group I highly doubt that this u23 team can finish top 3.
Japan and South Korea both look strong. I think that these 2 will go to the olympics.
Dont be surprised if mediocre Iraq finish top 3 in this tournament.

I have the opposite feeling. We have great pool of talented players. China match will be a piece of cake. They are more like my high school football team. I could kick 40 yards into the goal and we lost in spite of that. Omid team will win and it will only get better in the quarter final.
I am sure some Omid players read the Internet posts. also don't give ideas to arab teams and associations about evil ideas that they could have if already don't. To me it seems that N. Korea/Japan will be the next hurdle and once passing them it will be S. Korea to handle.
I will save the question about the truth about calling for Azmoun /jb or the coach thought he could do without them.
I am always against sending the young players to foreign teams such as in Ezatollahi's case because they are young and they can get injured because of lack of experience. You have to know in what situations you can tear your ligaments or pull a muscle.
Anyone who does well and gets noticed at the olympic then deserves and should transfer and not before that.

^^ we could have done it in previous qualification. The only problem was rookie coaches afazel and mansoorian. One turned over a teacm with a player with two yellow cards and the other did not even review or note the cards in two Kyrg. matches. and when the players list was announced no one including Afazel made a phone call to stop using a player with two yellows.

We have alot of talented players in Iran (more than any other asian nation) and this is nothing new. It has been like this for decades, however, we cant educate/foster them into complete football players and if you assess the players one by one you will see that most of them have some sort of major weaknesses /shortcomings and therefore they cant perform very well under stress.Originally posted by Leopard View PostI have the opposite feeling. These shortcomings can be: fitness problems, stress, anxiety before big games, understanding (read) the game etc
Thats why iranian teams perform above average in friendly games (or games against better opponents) because they can deal with the surrounding factors.
Imagine what happens if you open an academy in Iran similar to Aspire. With the right training and guidance we will export players to big leagues like La liga, Premier league etc
