As happy as I am with his performance and progress I would say he still doesn't deserve to start in TM. In fact I don't think any player ever "deserves" to start based on their club performances. I remember for years Masoud would be playing great in La Liga and he couldn't transfer any of that to TM. If any striker deserves to start it is Azmoun and Reza. They are always scoring and performing for TM which is more important to me than their club performances. That being said, wishing Karim all the best and I am sure he will keep improving and transfer his club performance to the national team. I don't think it's confidence. The tactics for Panionios is perfect for Ansarifard. In Panionios he plays higher upfield and his midfield is also higher upfield. Most of his goals are in the box where he strives scoring.Originally posted by Kiarash View Post

Random but thought I'd share -
I was talking to a Greek friend of mine who follows Greek soccer a bit and asked him if he knew about Ansarifard. He said his father (who follows very closely) sent him a link of his recent goal and that his father told him Ansarifard is a very popular player among Panionios fans and that there is a decent chance a bigger Greek team will go after him. He's been praised there this year as one of the better imports to their league this past season.
