Interview with Ali Alipour. He seems to be a very calm person. He tells that his dream is to play in Real Madrid..so we can assure, that he wants to be in Europe.. I think he has the potential to become a legionnaire.

exactly my point keano jan - beating malavan in bandar anzali is such a rarity for us that only only happens for us once every so often (few years maybe more)! That match you are talking about we did indeed lose to malavan 1-0 but we won on aggregate because we won either 3-2 or 4-2 in azadi so even then we didn't pull it off!Originally posted by Keano View PostAgreed GA jaan, we often struggle against Malavan, Especially in Anzali, but if I am not mistaken we beat them 3-4 years ago in the final of Hazfi in Anzali, with Daei at the helm of our team? Or was it a draw, thus winning the cup because of our home win against them? Cannot remember. Our sweetest win goes back to several years back when we beat them I believe 6-0 in Azadi.
Bizarrely all our Ex team players always turn into super players scoring on us, when playing us. Like Maziyar Zare, Pejman Nouri, and today's Hamid Ali Asgar who pretty much could be the MVP of the game. Let's hope neither Zare no Nouri can be one of those players once again next week!
I have a very strong feeling that we will win the title this year!
Zare has always been far better overall in malavan in comparison to persepolis for whatever reason, he wasn't very good for us or at least I didn't think so, but for malavan he always plays great. I think its the emotional attachment guys like zare and nouri have with the club....a reason I myself like to see malavan do well and sort of root for them is because of their diehard fans, the clubs support is real strong and guys like zare and nbouri grew up in that environment where malavan was the heart of the city (in the ghayeghran era in particular). So I think that has something to do with them turning into beasts when they play for malavan....and thats in general not just when they play Persepolis IMO.
Zare and Nouri aren't the ones I'm most concerned about. I'm most worried about the aerial threat we will face on set pieces/corners. We havent been that great at defending crosses and aerial balls and with the big bodies of the TM CBs (pourghaz and kannani) it could be a major threat. Not to mention Zare's FKs around the 18 or Nouri's great services which you pointed out. Rafkhaie on a good day is a decent player too be gotta watch out for as well but nothing too much for maric/bengar/umana.
I too am a strong believer we will finally come away with the trophy this year, the hunger and the determination that has been absent since '08 is 100% back as we have seen both of that more the majority of this season, if not the entirety of it. we just got to hope we can continue that in this upcoming tough stretch we have and we will be golden! (bezan be takhte)
I would take this with a grain of salt 04 jan. Pouraliganji who was also a younger player who said he had aspirations of going to europe was turned out to be bs when he was offered low contracts. given that alipour has performed well in a big club we all know how easily the fame and glory could get to a youngsters head (ganji being the example) which could result in demand of higher salaries aka staying at Persepolis or going to Al Shotor or Al Khar. He definitely has the potential but I wouldn't get my hopes up just yet.Originally posted by 04041374 View PostInterview with Ali Alipour. He seems to be a very calm person. I hope we don't take any of those teams easy! Some of them are going to be struggling to survive and will give it all they have to beat Persepolis.
Good win by Persepolis today even with 10 men. However I am very concerned about the team's defense. I hope it can hold. It will need a complete change next season, except for maybe left back.
I think the Malavan, Gostaresh and Naft games will be particularly difficult if the team gets too confident.
Also the derby is basically a 6 point game. The defense should be drilled like crazy for that game, because we know Esteghlal with Mazloumi in charge is going to have one tactic and one tactic only and then try and sit back if he scores.

we could definitely use more steady/consistent CB's but both our RB and LB positions are great. we have rezaeian who IMO was off to a slow start in the beginning of the season but got better as the year progressed. we wouldnt find anyone better than him anyway. also in the LB position we are solid too as u mentioned with ansari who has been the biggest surprise for me this season and also heydarieh isn't a bad second option.Originally posted by Nokhodi View PostI hope we don't take any of those teams easy! Kananni will be returning from Malavan next season so he will be a great addition. If we could get one experienced CB like seyed jalal or replace umana with an even better foreign import than we will be golden. Maric will be perfect to have as a third choice.
So honestly the only things this off season we really need is maybe a CB, striker, and a CM just to add depth and to possibly replace taremi if he (hopefully) goes to europe. other than that I think we are good!Team Meli Iran

As much as Branko deserves to be praised, he made one dumb decision at the start of the season and is paying for it every match. Rejecting Jalal Hosseini was a huge mistake and I still cannot think of any reason that justifies this decision. We badly need 2-3 new trustable CB's, some of the goals we conceded were more or less really laughable...
After 4 matches we finally broke that "1 goal each match" deadlock despite playing with 10 men. 200 days unbeaten and we have scored in all matches this season...overall there is nothing much we can complain about, it’s just that we missed some important points at the beginning and therefore can’t afford any mistakes anymore, hence why the pressure just increases.
As already stated, Malavan - especially in Anzali- has always been an annoying opponent - although in the last time we actually got some results vs. them if I remember correctly. Nevertheless, playing on that horrendous pitch will be difficult since we also don’t really have our full squad. Makani obviously and Alishah (Injury) are out, while 6 players will be suspended for the derby in case they get another yellow card: Taremi, Ansari, Mosalman, Bengtson, Kamyabinia and Hatami. The derby might decide the league winner, this is why it’s important to avoid injuries and suspension against Malavan - but on the other side we also need the points to keep Zob Ahan at distance and fully close the gap with SS + Khuzestan. It will be interesting to see if Branko comes up with a different line-up or if he goes with the full force.Formerly known as Persianking!

Taremi is such a talented player. He works so hard offensively and does really well to track back defensively. But I think Mohsen Mosalman needs more recognition as well. He too has been a very vital part of the squad and his distribution is very good. Kamyabinia is also good but sometimes his long balls are not on point. The worst part of the midfield has to be Nourollahi. He is seems to get so much praise just because he has a good shot, but his distribution is average at best and he gets really nervous. Actually he reminds me a bit of Ansarofard in the sense that they both seem shaky mentally and it affects their game on the field.

This team is truly the RED ARMY...from the bottom we slowly worked ourselves up, yet conceded some huge setbacks along the way. Referee decisions, last minute goals, poor finishing...however we continued, no matter what, and now we are just 1 point away from the very top! Hats off
We have been playing the best football of the league for a while, but finally we also seem to know how to get the needed result even on a bad day, making use of our limited chances. Formidable job by Branko!
Winning in Anzali was a very difficult task - probably even more difficult than the derby - but this team is ready to face every challenge! As predicted, the derby could already decide the champion: Beating the rather spiritless SS these days would demoralize them furthermore and they might put their focus on winning the Hazfi instead. Meanwhile SS Khuzestan plays Naft and we can hope for them to drop some points as Naft has done a great job as well to comeback in the second half of the season.
The absence of Kamyabinia will be felt badly, but on the other side SS also misses Cheshmi. Nevertheless I think overall Mehdi Rahmati once again will be the key player for SS. So many turnovers against Sepahan, they were lucky not to lose. That being said, we should not underestimate them! Especially Mazloumi is known for coming up with a "k*ri" tactic in order to get at least 1 point by all means.Formerly known as Persianking!

LOL just watched this derby report from a coffee shop in Tehran with a bunch of actresses whom I don't know any of them, cheering for their team (Almost all Esteghlali) It's amazing how some of them were so hardcore fans, one of them kept crying upon Esteghlal's defeat.
Anyhow if you have 32 minute of your time to spare, it may be worth watching:
