i think Khosro's Starting status on the Right side is in a bit of question..!? thats why he makes these camps along with other domestic options vying for his spot ..!!
he was far from a failure at WC but he also didnt play to his potential either..!!
its next to guaranteed that he will make the final AC squad, but it seems that possible replacements are being lined up and his Starting status is in a bit of question, especially for beyond AC..!!

i understand we have to build for the future but the best of best should always be invited because of their talent not because of their age.

Age should be a secondary reason for invites.

Also building for the future should be done at the under 23, 21, 19 , 16 levels. So the players are well coached once they enter the senior team.

Not for the senior coach to start them on the basics of modern Football. Like it or not most of our amazing raw talents have awful coaches. just look at the coaching list of omid, under 21, under 19 etc.
    Excellent Post..!!
as I said before when AK8's call up was in question, Age is JUST ONE OF MANY criteria that determines justifies a player's qualification for a call up..!!

Some interesting facts about the list:

Total caps of all players = 346
    Average Caps / Player = 15.0
    Average Age = 26.1 years
Youngest Line = Forwards, 22.0 years
Oldest Line = Midfield, 27.7 years

Total caps of outfield players (i.e. excluding goalies) = 335
Total international goals scored = 20
Average International goals per game for 10 outfield players = 0.6 goals / game

Number of players with zero caps (debutantes): 8
Number of players with more than 15 caps (i.e. the average number of caps): 7
Number of players with at least one international goal: 7
Number of players with at least 9 international goals (i.e. goals / game x average caps): 0

Mobali has been a key player in this great Naft team. He's given the most amount of assists in the league so far and has been one of the main reasons Naft has been doing so extremely well this season!

Not having him included at this stage would have been strange.

Great to see Iman Mobali in the list! Hope he makes a good impression on Carlos Queiroz and makes the final cut for the Asian cup. He was the playmaker and mvp when He made Foulad and Al Shabab two relatively small teams champions, now he's made a comeback and is doing the same with Naft, you have to give credit when it's due.

I strongly hope CQ will bring Mobali to Australia and even start him in some games. He's always been difficult to handle for Arabs and we could very well use his experience.

Cool list. More proof that CQ is watching the league contrary to what other people think. Just because he wouldn't invite players at the incorrect time doesn't mean he wasn't watching.

Of course lots of these players won't make it to AC. However they should keep a positive note in their mind that "hey, I am being observed and I am on the brink of making TM". Staying in high spirits will help them after the AC when it is time to slowly introduce new players to the national team.

^ Most likely selection, although I think Ahmadi will be prefered over either Forouzan or Beiranvand and Beitashour and Davari also still have a chance.

    Well said.

Mobali's age is not an issue - especially as he's been playing extremely well for Naft Tehran this season. It's double standards to say a 32 year old is too old for Team Melli at the Asian Cup while shouting for the inclusion of a 35 year old Karimi at the World Cup.

The trend with CQ is that he likes to supplement his list with a veteran play maker. In this case, I'm willing to bet that either Mohammad Nouri or Iman Mobali will be in the squad.

One notable exclusion is that of Beitashour. I think it's fair to say that he won't be in the Asian Cup squad at this stage. That being said, with zero bias, this is what's likely to be our squad. Of course, there may be 1-2 surprises exclusions (i.e. Khalatbari at the World Cup).

GK: Haghighi | Beiranvand | Forouzan

DF: Heydari | Ghafouri | Hosseini | Montazeri | Sadeghi | Beikzadeh | Pouladi (if allowed)

    MF: Jahanbakhsh | Ebrahimi | Nekounam | Teymourian | Dejagah | Masoud | Rafiei | Pouraliganji | Hajsafi | Nouri/Mobali

FW: Ansarifard | Azmoun | Ghoochannejhad

The rest of the youngster will have to wait their turn until after the Asian Cup to break into the squad.
