I really wonder what their actually sources are. 0.1% chance that this has any truth to it.Originally posted by irani1378 View PostEibar (La Liga) wants to sign Nekounam and is awaiting his answer.

Hes only been gone for one game....Originally posted by ایرانی View Postyou know you haven't made good investment in your football development when your unable to find a direct replacement for your best midfielder when he retires... In this case Nekounam.
Iff doesn't make any investment in development but by this logic Korea hasn't made good investment since they have yet to find a replacement for park ji sung

well unlike us Korea's olympic team qualifies for olympics and finishes top4. So I don't think we can claim to have the same level as football development as Japan or Korea. Even though we may have more 'potential' that doesn't guarantee success if its not nurtured and supported.Originally posted by ali alipour View PostHes only been gone for one game....

I didn't say anything remotely close to that I was just pointing out that you shouldn't expect a replacement that can perform like him so soon.Originally posted by ایرانی View Postwell unlike us Korea's olympic team qualifies for olympics and finishes top4. We haven't found a consistent replacement for Ali Karimi at the playmaking position yet either. Transition takes time. When Ibrahimovic retires, I doubt Sweden will have a player with just as much quality ready to start right after he is done. It doesn't work like that.Originally posted by ایرانی View PostWell I hope we do, because I don't see much stability in that position.

I understand, special talents come around once in a while like Zidane, Messi, Ronaldo etc. But with our population and talent pool there really should be more options, maybe not exactly to that level but there about's. Football is our national sport don't forget.Originally posted by Afat11 View PostWe haven't found a consistent replacement for Ali Karimi at the playmaking position yet either. Transition takes time. Take for example the Netherlands, Croatia or Uruguay not very big countries but still very competitive at International level due to great youth development programs and nurturing of players.
Its not rocket science but somehow we always manage to over-complicate things for ourselves.

I agree that we haven't had any major stars like Nekounam, Mahdavikia or Karimi come out of Iran for a while, but it will change soon, don't worry. Each country has its transition periods. I'm sure that in the years between Maradona and Messi, people were complaining about Argentina not having deep world cup runs. We have a great coach right now, but we are in a transition between a team of 30+ players to a team of 21 -23 year olds. The next AK8 will likely emerge in the next couple of years, mark my words. Don't expect it immediately though. Our last generation of Nekounam, Shojaei, Ando, Mahdavikia, Karimi, etc. is just ending. The new veterans will be Dejagah, Gucci, etc. A new star will emerge and make our team relevant again. We may have already seen him and he just hasn't matured, or he may be coming up soon. Iran is a very talented country, and we have a solid core of youth players coming up and a great coach, but we are lacking that star player to commandeer our team. With that, we would be a much stronger contender in World football.Originally posted by ایرانی View PostI understand, special talents come around once in a while like Zidane, Messi, Ronaldo etc. But with our population and talent pool there really should be more options, maybe not exactly to that level but there about's. If we had a Keisuke Honda or Omar Abdulrahman type playmaker on TM right now, we would be very good. Not just good, but by far the best team in Asia. Our coaching and core of players are great, but we are missing the spark at the moment. It will come.
