Kafashian will meet CQ on Thursday to finalize the contract

We have already lost so much valuable time. Let's hope it gets finalized and we can finally start preparing for Australia. CQ needs to attend more games and start developing younger players. This has been my only beef with him.

You do know that Ghotbi had tried to get both Dejagah and Gucci during his tenure and even Branko had tried to get Dejagah to come.

It's not really that ridiculous. They didn't want to play for Iran before CQ. Not really a coincidence. These guys have always been thinking of their careers first and there are many players in the world who put national duties aside when the coach they prefer no longer is employed. It's not 100% about patriotism. They are all like Beitashour to an extent that they came for the World Cup experience. Been there, done that. Unless they see a huge upside to continuing under a Ghalenoei or Kranjcar, I think they would not return. It's actually highly probable, even if you don't think it is.

CQ has learnt the players that no one is above the team, no one. So why would his disciples ignore this very important rule ?

CQ said himself that this is the contract that they have agreed to sign in the first place. apparently there were issues on the way the contract was written, but now this has been fixed and he's going to sign contract asap and as he says he will be in tehran on tuesday WITH his Coaches

We heard that before 'CQ agreed and will sign next week' . Hope this time is it and he will sign.

I HIGHLY doubt it. He had a pretty bad falling out with the Portuguese federation as far as I remember, not to mention that he'll be making more money in Iran than Bento was making in Portugal.

All that aside, he will have an uphill battle in Portugal against the media and fans for the next few months with the Euro qualifying in full swing, whereas he's guaranteed to be worshiped in Iran until the Asian Cup at the very least.
