You're right Doctor Doom. It's all IRs fault; but we were also super unlucky this time

The future will continue to be bleak due to IR and Iranians in general.

I also see realistic views pointing to our own failings & missteps that the ppl who run the football keep ignoring year after year. Which means we keep making the same mistakes, same failings, same shortcomings come up again and again.

We are NOT cursed more than any other team.
WE did/do it to ourselves. And yes, it's political. Bcoz WE (country of Iran, including the regime) bring politics into everything. Living under this regime that turns the most mundane issues into political points or an opportunity to push their depraved outlook.

Lets see what this “curse” is and who “cursed” us.
      1. Who deliberately weakened the team by excluding some effective players like Azmoun, Sayadmanesh, …?
      2. Who raised the average age of the team to 32?
      3. Who is responsible for Iran being treated like a pariah? Where we couldn’t get a single half-decent team to play us in test games? When every other nation could.
      4. Who is responsible for canceling of tours, camps, travel plans, …? When it never happened to any other nation.
      5. Who is responsible for the US adopting such stringent restrictions on visa, camps, game-day, … ? why didn’t they do this to the of the 47 teams?
      6. Whose fault is it that we couldn’t beat the WEAKEST team in the group and perhaps one of the weakest teams in the entire WC?
      7. Whose fault was it that we didn’t convert an easy penalty? A weak slow shot, close to the keeper.
      ----------

At the same time I do detect some peculiar things happen that may feed those who want to bring supernatural into things.
      1. 3 goal post/bar hits
      2. Two VAR calls of your arse 3 inches off and your toe by 2 inches
      3. Even the corner flag (Austria game) didn’t want us to advance as it kept the ball in.
      4. While on the last matchday we had 96% chance of going through, that 4% won!
Blame whoever and whatever you want. But you cant ignore all the fault of our own. I may feel bad for the country of Iran for not registering a WC advance record. But I also am happy the regime will not get another opportunity to turn this into “a win for Islamic regime, Islam, axis of resistance (Mehvar-e moghavemat), ,, or whatever garbage sh*t they always do). Don’t like to face this fact? Sue me.

The team also have a lot to be blamed for. They could have placed their own people & nation above else. The players had NO PLACE amongst the people of Iran. Even when the ppl put aside their grievances aside and cheered their goal, the players still didn’t connect wt the ppl, nor even tried (How many of players appeared in regime orchestrated street circus, proudly expressed their love for regime & Rahbar, wanted to dedicate any success to their leader, … ).

Nothing captures the concept of KARMA than Shoja scoring a goal, acting like an idiot, getting his goal ruled offside, becoming a meme internationally ... when he has been one of the most vocal supporters of the regime wt all his rants.
      THAT is Karma.

Worst was when they said “those are all INTERNAL issues and no need to talk about them”, referring to slaughter of more than 40,000 innocent Iranians. The more they distanced themselves from the population, the more likely the jubilation in their failure.

No. You reap what you sow. Now shut up and cope.

add to this, you make your own luck as well. we went to this WC with the mentality of "lets get 3 points from 3 ties" and go to next round. This proved to be harder than they thought.

The team is the epitome of "over-promising and under-delivering" each and every time.

I don’t want to get into this back and forth. I like everyone here have family in Iran. And I hear different things.

But when the head of the Iran’s Olympic team makes a statement that supports their lack of popularity today it means something.

If it makes you feel better that you think this is the people’s team and they are doing this to give people some joy, by all means Nooshe joonet.

DD jaan good to see you around again. I fully agree with you, there is absolutely no such thing as "Cursed" it was all brought upon us by the IR and IFF, which includes its sycophant coach GN. The politically motivated exclusion of several key players has only made matters worse and reflects the broader oppressive system behind it.

I used the word jinx a few days ago and it caused a certain member, I think Offside is his name, to melt down. I use that word as an exaggeration for the sheer disappointment this team has been since 1979. They have accomplished literally nothing in 47 years of note. I barely followed this tournament, but when my brother told me this team just need results from Qatar, Iraq and other asian teams to bail them out, I just laughed to myself. As others have said, they put themselves in this position, and they will perpetually fail in a fashion that breaks your hearts for another 50 years if IR stays in power. That is why I laugh at a lot of you for caring so much and crying conspiracy, luck, etc.

Japan, Australia, etc. get to play friendlies with big teams. They get to test themselves and new tactics, learn a dynamic football method over time that takes a decade to instill into a developed football program. We can barely play Botswana and even then our friendlies are often canceled. I remember over the years we would get cooperation agreements with Italy, Spain, etc that would say friendly coming at some point between 2010 through 2019. These never materialized.

Iran is a pariah in the world. You can blame, US, Israel, Canada, etc. But why is Iraq playing Spain before the world cup and we haven't had a friendly of that caliber since Brazil in 2010. I think that was done out of pity and it has been 16 years. People thought it was CQ being "afraid" to play friendlies against tougher opposition. After several years of GN, we know the reality that nobody wants to play TM. Italy and Spain don't avoid playing us because Israel and US told them not to. IR just has such a stink on them, the IFF is such a poorly run organization that is reflective of the absolute brainlessness of the IR leadership. Some of you want to close your eyes and just blame everything on outside forces, but truthfully, if IR is demolished and kotleted to the chunks of meat they all deserve to be, TM would play better friendlies under a legitimate government and there is talent in Iranian footballers to at least be a mid-level European team, maybe even better than some. We're now 50 years behind football of Germany, Spain, etc., but all of you should now take your minds off hoping Uzbekistan will help this TM advance to a round of 32 we'd participated in several times before already, and put it into how can we help get these IRGC bastards turned to kotlet with a side of Hezbollah fries in the dirt so we can rid the dirt of these absolute pieces of shit who have brought us nothing but death and despari for 47 years.

Anyone saying, we just have to get back to normal and move on with our lives, sincerely go to hell with the IR bastards. You are their servant with such weakness and lack of a spine. Resist IR with every fiber of your being. If you're living in Berlin, or Paris, or NYC, this is your obligation as an Iranian. Giving in and quitting because IR closed Hormuz and Trump is put off from more attacks doesn't mean that we are back to square one. Keep pushing until all IR is dead in the ground or else you will live in exile with infiltrators raping your country for many years. Giving up is what they want, don't play into their hands.

If one of the wackos thinks there's a way to rid Iran of IR without some bloodshed (after these fucktards killed thousands of our people with no remorse), please let the rest of the class know. The only thing these meymoons understand is their skulls turned to dust (no brains in their empty skulls) like supreme burrito. Anyone saying well maybe if we work with them and kiss their ass they'll be nice someday! <You are literal aghab oftadeh if you believe this.

You mentioned algorithm which is something many people still don't get. If I suddenly start watching a few propaganda videos of IR, then that's what will mainly pop up on my IG or YouTube. Same if I show interest in Pahlavi, Russia, animals, cooking or literally anything else.

This is why some people are so convinced of what they see online instead of fact checking.

Just look at the bullshit regarding Mohebi as an example. First the fake video with the Mahsa poster, and then the reports about him being deported which were completely fabricated.

The number of conspiracy theories, false claims and AI generated videos gets more and more online with the purpose of spreading fear and misleading people.

Some people get their sources mainly from random videos/posts on social media. No wonder people take advantage of that.

                Thank you Keano Jan.
I do visit the sits on & off. But rarely post.

On the VAR, might I add if either of Taremi or Shoja's offside calls by VAR, the player involved was Kane or Ronaldo or Messi, I'm not so sure the VAR would have ruled offside.

I'd like to think this is a fair game. But it isn't.
shitty Qatar was shafted in their 1st game by the ref (which I'm happy. Qatar deserves every shit & misery coming its way). I dont remember the incident, but noted that suddenly no replays was used & the ref & TV directors moved on quickly 🤣🤣🤣

So we know Fifa loves star power above all else. It brings butts to the seats & purchase of tickets.
So they prefer Debruyne to be seen in further games than a fool like Kanani.

One of the ways to change ambiguity and make the game more "fair" (which will never be fair) is to have a random draw after each round. That way, teams do not try to earn points to reach one side of the bracket or the other. Let the best team win, even if it means Argentina faces Brazil in round 32. This gives other teams a chance to win the World Cup. With the current setup, only the legacy teams have a chance.

The current system is based on how well a team plays in the first round. It is merit based. The system you propose means that by chance the top two teams in the tournament meet at round of 32 and one gets eliminated. Then the best team keeps bearing lesser opponents until the finals. Totally unfair to second best team.

Look at the last WC Argentina and France final represented the best two teams and a very exciting final.

A new team that wins the world Cup must be good enough to beat the legacy teams...like Spain in 2010.

I can honestly say we got shafted this time around with the Algeria-Austria match fixing and the bs VAR call on our game winning goal.

In 2006, 2018, and 2022, we just weren’t good enough. This time, we really were—we played better with each game. This is why this exit stings more to me than any previous edition.

In 2018 we where definitly good enough imo, we just had the hardest group with Spain, Portugal and Morocco, if Taremi had not choked on that last rebound in the dying minutes that CQ Iran team would have top that group.
