No, the reason Iran didn't win is because Ghalenoi decided to settle for a draw in the second half. TM minimized risk taking and looked happy with the clock ticking. They didn't push forward and test the Egyptian defense at all until stoppage time came, when Iran suddenly created 3-4 great chances.
The plan to settle for a draw will most likely backfire as things look now. I have a hard time seeing any of the remaining scenarios going TMs way. -

It was Kanani, I believe since he was behind Beiranvand and the ball went thru Beiro's legs his view was blocked from seeing the ball's trajectory the whole way and so there was a delay in his reaction - but I agree he should've still done way better.Originally posted by AmirSalar View PostComment
