I think Egypt and Belgium will both beat NZ comfortably.Originally posted by Dubxl152 View PostWhat's the best scenario for us? Egypt win or draw? I feel like Egypt win puts us squarely in 3rd place and a draw next game would see us through? Or am I thinking about this wrong
so against Egypt, if we win, we go through,
if we draw we “may go through”
if we lose we are out

Iran had 3 very good chance to win the game
after the red card they basically stopped playing ,,,
Belgium was better they had control of the whole midfield we basically couldn’t even hold on to the ball for more than 5 seconds before we lost it or they took it off us
,,,, we need to have someone who can at least hold the ball for 30 seconds before and distribute it ,,,,
it is a good result 0-0 against Belgium,,,
we should have tried to win it but we see … now

His name is ghoddos and once he comes off we don't have a real holding and distributing midOriginally posted by a_m View PostIran had 3 very good chance to win the game

Not to lose strategy, even after the red card, I think was the right thing to do. The fact that this team still has a chance by game 3 to qualify, is a win itself.Originally posted by a_m View PostIran had 3 very good chance to win the game

GN started the game with the right strategy and formation to withstand the early pressure, had two decent subs with Torabi and Mohammadi, but then with his mid game management he started going nuts. JB sub meh, whatever, could've gone without it (Ghaedi would've been more impactful)...but why have Moghanlu, Taremi, and Hosseinzade on at the same time?? Even if you're going for the win that's a terrible combination. They almost conceded because of that with Ezzi and Saman out. Just take out Taremi and put in Hosseinzade at 75th minute. Moghanlu wasn't needed. We would've beat this Belgian team with a man down if we had a coach with half a brain.
Sardar's absence has been greatly felt in both games.

if he’s over his injury then it would be surprising if he doesn’t come in against Egypt.Originally posted by IRAN_TILL_I_DIE View PostWhat’s the deal with Dennis, I would rather have even a 50% for Dennis than Torabi or Moghanlou

Excellent result for us considering everything, and we have to give GN credit for our overall defense in this game.
If we don’t play Ghoddos right behind Taremi in the next game, we will have a difficult time. Again, he’s too far away to make an impact and is not great defensively.
We played 4-2-3-1 against Japan in the Asian Cup and won 2-1. Same formula: except Taremi up top, with either Razzagina or Ghorbani next to Ezatollahi.

Update? 😂 JK I predicted the same thingOriginally posted by persiangodfather View PostThis most humiliating game for the islamic republic will be this one. There is absolutely no answer to stop lukaku. The islamic republic should pray for imam Ali to come play center back because shoja and nemati will allow him to score 3 goals easily
My prediction Belgium 5 Irgc 1

We got very lucky this wasn’t sent down for review. Jahanbaksh played horribly and could’ve got a red card immediatelyOriginally posted by Shahin K View PostNow THIS should be red. From Jahanbakhs
congrats to the boys for this and credit to GN for a masterclass defensive gameplan. Subs had issues but the defending was brilliant
