even more corruption by FIFA:
"Folarin Balogun's red card continued on Monday afternoon. Hours before the United States' Round of 16 matchup against Belgium, FIFA released a lengthy statement from the disciplinary committee, announcing that Balogun has been fined $40,000 in connection to the red card.
The statement confirmed that the one-match suspension for Balogun's red card, which the striker picked up the card against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Round of 32, has been delayed by one year. Per FIFA, the team was informed of both the fine and the suspension on Sunday.
The disciplinary committee said that Balogun had been investigated by FIFA for two offenses: The red card, and then for re-entering the field to celebrate with his U.S. teammates, "despite his expulsion." The committee then found him "guilty of both infringements."
so he actually committed 2 offenses, and yet the mandatory one-game ban was reversed.
Once again, the Ronaldo example is not applicable here. The reversal can only be applied to the suspensions BEYOND the one game ban. Ronaldo served his one game ban, and the 2 remaining games, were suspended.
A red card has a mandatory one game ban. That is not reviewable and not reversable. This is outright corruption“It is easier to fool the people, than to convince them they have been fooled." - Mark Twain

^ Garincha 1962?? so it doesn't count for you??
FIFA can do whatever they want using whatever article they need. They rule the competition and deny goals or qualifications to the teams they want like Croatia and etc. How come you don't see their other offenses?? is it more convenient for you to bash Trump? it has nothing to do with him but the FIFA who has done so much harm to the game. I guess as USA is the last host left, they want to keep them to sell more tickets as this whole thing is about money so wait for controversial decisions in the USA vs Belgium game as well.__________________________________________________ ________________________________________

As for Garincha, prior to 1974, there were no FIFA Disciplinary Code which means that decisions were made ad hoc. There were no written rules.
Today, FIFA has rules. There is a reason to have written rules, otherwise, why even have rules.
These are the dates for when the formal ruling was documented which includes the mandatory one-game ban:- 1974 – First FIFA Disciplinary Code.
- 2004 – Major rewrite that modernized disciplinary procedures.
- 2011 – Updated edition.
- 2019 – Comprehensive restructuring (reduced from 147 to 72 articles).
- 2023 – Further updates.
- 2026 – Current edition in force for the 2026 World Cup.
A red card carries a mandatory one-game ban. If additional days are added, which happened with Ronaldo, those days can be reviewed and reversed.
In this case, the red card was not reversed, which means he should have served the one game ban, and then he entered the game which got him the $40k penalty.
I am well aware of the some the controversial calls in the field, however, when you get a red card, and the mandatory one game ban is dropped, it makes FIFA look a corrupt joke.

^ huh??? didn't you read what I wrote about FIFA????? haven't they had any other controversial decisions even in this edition??? there you get your answer. They own the game and can and will do anything they want. The VAR was one of their last tricks to decide the outcomes. They do whatever they want, please tell me what part of these you don't understand??? my question to you is who made this decision and why?? there you answer yourself.__________________________________________________ ________________________________________

^ ok, so we both agree that FIFA is corrupt. This is not a Trump or a Biden issue. This is a case of FIFA, showing how corrupt there are, whether it's about calls on, or off the field. It should not be ok when a football organization does not follow the rules that they themselves have put into place“It is easier to fool the people, than to convince them they have been fooled." - Mark Twain
