The US wants Iran to go back to Mexico after every game instead of staying nearby. So the players have to fly in and out 6 times over the course of 2 weeks, and if by some reason the team get to r32 they will have to fly for 6-8+ hours instead of 1-3.
Do not worry about next round. this will be a quick 3 game and they will go home. do not sweat it.

I can understand how they can get from Tijuana to LA (Still quite a way with traffic too).. but how are they going to get to Seattle? Iranians really live life on hard mode

They're not taking the bus, they'll be flying. Taking the bus would turn a 1 hour flight from Tijuana to LA into a 6 hour drive with the traffic

^ logistically, they probably drive all the way to LA.

From Tijuana, there is no direct flight so it’s minimum 8+ hours not including going in and out of the airports. They could possibly drive to San Diego and fly to LA, that maybe faster, but I think having to deal with immigration passport control , possibly some disruptive diaspora, it’s easier to make it a round trip drive to and from LA. That’s probably the reason why they chose Tijuana and not a major city like Guadalajara with direct flights to LA
