^ Taj says that this would solve the visa problems but how? They would still need to enter US. And I also heard that Taremi, Shoja and Hajsafi did not get the visa.__________________________________________________ ________________________________________

Yes, better location for Southern California fans to drive to TJ and harass the team in their hotel and practice field. Its perfect.Originally posted by Pluto2000 View PostThis is actually a way better location than Arizona. Much cooler and closer to Los Angeles. Plus freedom from harassment

This was likely always the right move, shorter overall travel time and cooler. With Mexico's president making a live statement on the move, it seems assured that the team will be well taken care of. I do wonder what prevented them from going with TJ in the first place. There aren't direct flights between there and LA and Seattle, so perhaps some technical travel logistics between the two countries, but can't imagine what else.

not so sure that's a smart move given that they will have to deal with the Mexican police and we all know how non-corrupt they are .....Originally posted by persian-eagle-13 View Post

This was never about TM and the comfort of players. This was a Sepah and their propaganda, plus better control over players, so players do not defect to the US. This is so that Sepah can send their agents with the team to the TM camp in Mexico to control media, control the crowd, and make sure players do not turn against IRI.Originally posted by ABalls View PostThis was likely always the right move, shorter overall travel time and cooler. Or we can stop creating a boogeyman where it doesn't exist and say the reason why they switched the camp is because the US forced the team out. Literally from the president of Mexico:Originally posted by persian-eagle-13 View Post

It was a propaganda to say " we do not need US."
The US wants Iran to go back to Mexico after every game instead of staying nearby. So the players have to fly in and out 6 times over the course of 2 weeks, and if by some reason the team get to r32 they will have to fly for 6-8+ hours instead of 1-3.Sheinbaum said Fifa approached her government after the US said it did not want Iran’s squad to stay in the country throughout the tournament, despite Iran playing all three of its group matches there.
“The United States doesn’t want the Iranian national team to stay overnight in the United States,” Sheinbaum told reporters. She said a Fifa representative had then asked: “Can they stay overnight in Mexico?”
“And we said, ‘Yes, no problem. We have no issue with that’,” she said.
