...... but I doubt very much if FIFA going to ban Islamic Republic. Islamic Republic would also not withdraw on their own initiative, as they see this as an opportunity to show defiant. I feel bad though for those players that are stuck between a rock and a hard place. If they quiet TM, they are seen as traitors and will most certainly face some form of severe punishment by the barbaric regime. If IR is not already in the garbage can of history by the WC date (which is looking less likely at the moment), it would be very interesting to see how IR is going to withstand the pressure in Los Angeles/Seattle. I am sure people in general will be kind and sympathetic towards the players (except a few who are known to be a bacheh paasdar like Torabi and Khalilzadeh) but they will not tolerate the IR anthem to be heard in stadiums nor the shameful flag waved. And if IR is gone, this WC would be THE MOST memorable one ever, regardless of how the team does.
i dont think its an act of defiance rather the fines and costs of doing so far out way the benefit - no way the federation will pay the millions in fines and miss out on the next 15 world cup qualifiers in order to be "defiant" theres too much money at stake

People that still follow team melli are really greedy. You guys won’t give up and face reality.
did any if you listen to regime tv?? They are openly using team melli for a islamic republic advertising. Showing that Iranians stand behind de crab flag!
even if most players are against the regime, they are now an advertisement for the regime!!

    fools

all players that can (have monetary means) should boycott this TM-the fact they didn't and kissed the ass of the regimis and did what they were told is a testament to their loser, money first mentality. and look at ghalenoie proudly singing the anthem, because he knows in any other regime, he'd be washing toilets. and look at Ando selling out by putting his hand over his heart for khomenie's anthem...such shame to see that. get these losers out.

Sardar Azmoun, Faghani and singer Mohsen Yeganeh's properties and assets have been frozen by the IR.

Most TM players want Regime Change. They will show their support by the best chance till WC. lets have some patience for the next months.

I think torabi and shoja are the only retarded idiots. Dont know when it comes to Beira.

I predict that we will see Azmoun at the WC.

By the way, terrible TM list...

I remember shojaei and hajasfi got in trouble years ago for playing against Israeli opposition so maybe Mehdi gets repercussions

or maybe the sardar situation got so much media attention that they will let it go

    still don’t understand Hosseinnezhdehs omission

    2. Those Westerners who play for Eriteria look Eriterian, no?
    3. Anyone choosing to play for Iran now knows that the players are and will be under extreme duress to sing the anthem, give military salutes and not defect because of threats against their families etc. The whole world saw what happened to our Women's National team. Those who refused to play and left the team have shown what a wise decision they made. Those who played gained nothing but at a minimum severe worry about themselves and their families for refusing to sing the anthem.
    4. GN would have to find a good 6 foreign born players to fulfill your dream of replacing IR loving players in our lineup.
    5. What kind of game will u be planning to attend? Cheering for one player, booing the next player, cheering goals against beiranvand, cheering goals by Eckert?
    6. Tof be rooye Saman too if he plays now...and Eckert etc. They have grown up without being brainwashed...so we can't give them any benefit of doubt.

There is absolutely no way to separate sports from IR. Even IR says that...listen to Misaghi's rant. If you play for IR, you have to accept them. Unequivocally, any team IR puts forth in football will be an IR team.
    2. You ignored my point - Eritrea and North Korea are outrageously corrupt countries and even more barbaric than Iran’s in some cases yet players went to play for them - jong tae see was born in Japan to South Korean parents and he opted to play for North Korea despite the brutality of that regime ? Why? Because it was his ticket to a bundasliga move . Where’s the outrage over that ? No where. Same with those European born players who opt to play for Eritrea

( North Korean law states than Koreans who attend North Korean school in Japan can get North Korean passports)

Most athletes don’t give a f about politics my point is

    3. The u23 team didn’t give military salutes when they didn’t sing the anthem first game- second and third they were most likely forced as they were laughing throughout and a lot of those players are now dropped in this squad . Two women got saved in the end that’s better than nothing

    4. there are still players like ghaedi that defied the government and got called up- Taremi spoke out against corruption way before the war and was never dropped

    5. I support Iranians in their endeavours I don’t like most of this squad anyway I think it’s the most cliquey one politics aside

    6. saman most likely will accept his call up - he didn’t post regarding the conflict and all and celebrated his goals in the uae league- the majority of players didn’t celebrate their goals with the exception of zhaedi who in fairness scored for the first time in 450 days so I can understand him celebrating

athletes are selfish individuals from day one they don’t give a f and shouldn’t be relied upon

ir has been corrupt f and in power long before this website was created- so why did you join the website ? If it’s always been an IR team?

the fans in California will be majority pro rp and will boo the anthem like they did in Australia - yet the games will go ahead and most likely be our last World Cup in a while- I don’t see infrastructure recovering for at least another 5-10 years minimum , most likely we won’t have any home games for years onwards the New Zealand game is the last chance for a wc win for a long time

The report says (in Hebrew) that "however, Taremi may not have know that Naor is Israeli".
