I’ve said this before: there are many things we can blame IFF for, but this case is not one of them. Ibrahim Maza’s situation is not comparable at all. Maza has a fully Algerian father. Eckert’s father is only half Iranian, and there is no official documentation to prove Iranian nationality.

Without that, how is IFF supposed to prove to FIFA that he is partly Iranian in order to request a nationality switch?

What we should be blaming IFF for is the lack of a proper scouting system to identify players in the Iranian diaspora and invite them to youth teams at an early stage.
Well in his interview with goal bezan eckert said the first time he got contacted from iranian agents was when he was at celta vigo and said he wanted to focus on his club performance- sounds like he was holding out for Spain or Germany which seems reasonable all things considered and he also said he didn't know if he could trust the iranian agents that were scouting him .

Then there was his 9 goal season at Union where he really starred in which he was contacted again but there were document issues- i believe if CQ were boss for a long period of time he'd have really pressed the issue like he did with Ghoddos and Jasur- where he contacted his father to make it happen. CQ would've pressured the federation more.

And thats the issue with Ghalenoi hes just so late with everything - by the time eckert gets his documents he will just have 6 games to integrate with the squad against pretty tough competition - wouldve been much better utilising him against Krgystan or north korea better yet Hong Kong earlier on in the qualifiers- now it seems like hes been invited into a high pressure situation and will be up against Spain/Portugal to make an impact that's asking alot . Similarly Bietashour was invited exactly 6 games before the 2014 world cup again its not enough time for proper integration. The IFF have this play hard to get model of asking players to declare their interest first before a call up so they've asked Elis Bishesari to come out and say he's interested in playing for iran before contacting him- all this will do is waste time and give sweden the chance to cap tie him.

again if cq was still here he would've already been to stockholm negotiating with him .

we have such a bumass federation literally the laziest in asia

Yeah, I agree with pretty much everything you said.

My comment was related to Eckert’s situation, which has been more complicated than most because of missing documents. That’s not something we can blame the IFF for.

However, we can blame the IFF for their incompetence in general. We have so many retards in Iran in key positions who don’t know what they’re doing. A competent IFF would look at countries like Morocco and Turkey and simply copy their process:
      - Strong scouting focused on the diaspora from a young age
      - Early and direct contact with players and their families
      - Proper investment in youth teams and facilities to have a clear argument when choosing Iran over youth teams of countries such as the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, etc.
