aria jasur - Japanese passport law stopped it from happening but at least cq tried to push the issue forward and pfdc actually were the ones who got him recognition .

I think if cq was still boss eckert would’ve started in the Asian cup for sure - he would’ve done everything to make it cross the line

deep down I feel this pursuit of Eckert is to appease the fans for the shitty stadium renovations and poor performances - bring in a handsome German guy and reignite moral. I don’t recall Gucci’s case taking a long time. Zandi and Dejagah were different situations, especially Dejagah, because they were still deciding between Germany and Iran themselves.

I’ve said this before: there are many things we can blame IFF for, but this case is not one of them. Ibrahim Maza’s situation is not comparable at all. Maza has a fully Algerian father. Eckert’s father is only half Iranian, and there is no official documentation to prove Iranian nationality.

Without that, how is IFF supposed to prove to FIFA that he is partly Iranian in order to request a nationality switch?

What we should be blaming IFF for is the lack of a proper scouting system to identify players in the Iranian diaspora and invite them to youth teams at an early stage.

I believe he deserved a call up for his Europa league goals for Union at least it seems like it’s very little time for him to have an impact now. The Iran v New Zealand match will be a high pressure situation but I’m sure Eckert’s physicality can come in handy for it

his dad is coming it seems - guess the career boost of seeing his son play in a world cup was too much to turn down- makes logical sense really this is eckert's last chance to shine on the global stage ironically his first match for TM might be against his mother's nation lol
