Elis Bishesari interview done by gol bezan
he has got an iranian passport
he's been to iran 5 times
he is illegible for Romania due to his mother - he was contacted by Romanian football federation for training at 16 and has never been contacted from the IFF
he said if he was called up for the world cup he'd think about it
he doesn't speak much persian and has no iranian football idols
doesn't follow the iranian league.

Wouldn't his dad having an Iranian passport be enough for FIFA?
seems like his passport application process is in its final stages

what I currently think is that Eckert’s grandad is dead for fifa documentation to be approved fifa need proof that the grandad was born in Iranian land- that’s the document that Anita the famous actress related to Eckert tried to find but couldn’t
so alas plan b was for Eckert’s dad to take a dna test prove his relation to Anita - the first dna test was sent through the mail from Germany and then contaminated and failed the second dna test Eckert’s dad flew to Iran in January and took the dna test and it was a match which meant he was eligible for an Iranian passport which then meant through Iranian law Eckert can get one
here’s what I don’t get - because a lot of Arab nations plus Malaysia have just been handing passports Willy nilly it’s likely fifa still need proof of the grandad’s birth place in order to deal with the corrupt nationalisation of non disporas. We seen it recently with the UAE team giving uae passports to several young Brazilians trying to get them in the team despite them living less than 5 years
because Eckert played 45 minutes for Germany youth team he’s technically a German international still so I’m guessing fifa will still want proof that his grandad is born in Iran for the change of association confirmation which still hasn’t been completed
simply a parent having a passport isn’t enough for fifa I think you need evidence that at least one grandparent is born in a nation to represent it the fact that Eckert’s dad and Eckert have a passport at the same time might be deemed suspicious by fifa and they need further proof to clarify things
the most similar is Pakistani international Ottis khan who was born in the uk had one Pakistani grandfather got a Pakistani passport but was then suspended by fifa whilst on international duty in Cambodia because it was found out his grandfather was born on Indian soil- later this was rebuttalled successfully but simply parent’s having a passport isn’t enough for FIFA it seems you either have a grandparent born in that nation or you’ve lived in that nation for at least 5 years . Eckert’s grandad is long dead so finding those documents is still an issue

Well there were 5 Malaysian footballers recently suspended due to forged documents claiming they had a Malaysian grandparent - hence why Vietnam got awarded a victory against Malaysia and Malaysia players got suspended at club level for around a year could be because of that fifa are taking a tougher stance against quarter nationals after the recent shenanigans
could be that the documentation for fifa is not yet enough
what we do know his dad’s dna test came out successfully and he has an Iranian passport but for fifa I think the documentation about his grandfather’s birth in Iran is the most important and I don’t know how they go proving that since he’s long dead and the documents are seemingly lost
