- Golmohammadi/Nekounam
- Someone familiar with Iran's system and players like CQ, Morais, Strammaccioni, Garrido, Skocic, etc.

Anyone outside of that is worse than GN because they will have only 5 weeks worth of time with the players till the WC.

i admired him still for finally instilling some sense of discipline in TM camp after decades, opening the Western EU doors to our young and hopeful footballers , and for forcing the amateur goozoo's that often run our federation into a bit of foresight, proper long term plannings and a bit of a professional approach to preparations for big tourneys ..!!

but coaching the modern game has largely passed him or he'd been employed by now..!! and he has had plenty of opportunity over almost a decade of being at helm? to do something of real notable historic value for our football..!!
his ultra defensive game approaches are frankly boringAF & purely an eyesore, even for TMfans
(i was on stands in Russia wc and honestly it was really hard to watch our games there from the stands, especially difficult to be cheerful in a game in which you team is fkn is just parking the bus stuck in their own half of a pitch for 80% plus of the full 90 .! )
sure you can be happy a bit at squeezing a narrow draw or a lucky 1 goal win nevertheless its also simply difficult to take all too much pride for it afterwards knowing how chicken shitty all out defensive and anti football your side was throughout the tourney Only to top it off by ultimately failing to progress which only goes to exasperate the overall dissatisfaction..!!

ffs, still to date our Biggest splash and source of footballing pride in WC goes back to winning an exciting game vs USA at WC98 ..!! that so with a domestic coach ....!! and Carlos managed to shitt all over that too @ WC22...!!

besides for all his positives in personality, himself also can be a pity revengeful character by holding silly grudges against certain players thus playing ignorant favorites and fkn over the Team just to get a bit of Personal gratification ..!!

We Really need to move the fk on from Carlos ... his coaching ship has looooong sailed past..!!

As ive said before many times, his real calling is far more in overall organizational building and Management side of the game .... !! i'd give my left nut to have him as IFF president ..!

To add to this, Sayyadmanesh is blacklisted from TM similar to Nourallahi. He had sarbazi problems + injury and had to reject a TM call up to figure it out. GN felt disrespected and won't invite him again. I think that's what I heard on a few spaces with Gol Bezan, unless I heard it incorrectly. Someone correct me if I'm wrong if you know otherwise.

One question people. Don't you think we should reposition Taremi and play him as a defensive midfielder and use other capable strikers up front instead? Because we all know that Mehdi is not a striker anymore.

DM is too far back. We need his playmaking abilities. CM would be ok.

I think as long as we play him next to an explosive striker/winger (Azmoun and Mohebi) it's fine.

The problem with team melli stems from the fact that our CBs combined age is almost 70.

Then it's exacerbated with Ezatollahi being afraid of the ball (he always turns his back to defend...you learn in elementary school the first rule of football is to not be afraid of the ball).

Then it's even more exacerbated with fullback players like Milad Mohammadi who just ball watch while everyone else defends and he does nothing.

TM needs to go on a nationwide hunt for a defensive midfielder like Neko/Bagheri who has some qualities and gheirat. Then do the same for LB. Play some of the younger CBs like Hazbavi/Zare next to an experienced CB like Aghasi. Then get new coaching staff, and maybe we can finally win the Asian Cup.
