I expect at least one of Saharkhizan or Ghandipour, one of Eiri or Zare, Allahyar, Gholi, Majid Hosseini, Noorafkan, Hardani, Sadegh, etc

That prelim list isn't really a list... It's just a mini camp of PGPL players and it doesn't even include Hazfi cup players that play in sanat naft, Gol Gohar, Malavan, and Esteghlal

I expect half or more of those players to get dropped

My guesses on who will make the final squad from this prelim list:

My guess is the rest of the players will get cut to make way for the other PGPL players and legionnaires

I don't think because of world club matches,
mehdi or even sardar get call up. Medi for sure won't get call up that's just my prediction

Issue is we don't have proper wingbacks for a 3-atb. Only ones who have that experience are ARJ and maybe Moharrami. I guess Jalali and Hardani have that experience too with Esteghlal recently? 🤣

We should continue playing 4-4-2 because our greatest strength is still our striker duo and winger depth. Many people forget 4-4-2 is supposed to be a defensive formation with focus on countering through the wings/crosses. Ghalenoei forgot about the defensive part though. He has our fullbacks push up so aggressively that we essentially play 2-2-6 so we get served like sholezard.

The moment either Taremi/Azmoun retire or if one of them becomes injured we need to immediately switch to 4-3-3. Just have more people in the middle with a focus on scoring through our immense wing depth in Mohebi/Gholi/Ghaedi. We got some more Gholi style players coming up like Hashemnejad who needs to be integrated as soon as ARJ leaves.

With that said ^ our defense can only be fixed in 4 steps:

Step 1: Faster and younger centerbacks.

Step 2: Replace Milad with someone who can actually defend and cross. Tell our fullbacks to stop pushing together (this always annoyed me, both always leave and one of them is always useless in attack).

Step 3: Play Ezatollahi deeper

Step 4: Practice actual man marking AND set piece defense. God knows we can't defend an actual corner/freekick. Milad always forgets who he's supposed to mark when the opponent is in our final third.
