My source was transfermarkt so it could be outdated, but AFAIK when I was going through these, I saw about 10-12 players from those academies, no KIA, and a few random ones like Paykan U17.

I really do wonder what happened though, it was astonishing that we couldn't even conjure a few passes together compared to even Tajikistan

Well the same players beat Indonesia and Saudi Arabia before the tournament.
Tajikistan got to the final last time round - central Asian players are very physically strong

North Korea probably drug their players didn’t their youth women’s team fail drugs tests 5 years or so ago

it was a tough group in hindsight not making excuses because we deserved to get knocked out

I don’t buy us slipping outside the top 8

The new U17 head coach has called up a diaspora player who plays in Sweden for the november qualifiers .

That’s great, but there’s almost no information available about him apart from a few videos that seem to have been uploaded by himself in the last couple of weeks. I’m really curious how people discovered him and concluded that he’s talented.

To me, it feels like his surroundings might have used certain connections to get him invited to our youth team, similar to what happened with Mahan Baghdadi and Arwin Javad.

In fact, when I searched for him on Vålerenga’s website, I couldn’t find any mention of him. However, I did come across an Iranian striker named Mostafa Najafzadeh, who has represented Norway’s youth team.

A simple search on Transfermarkt shows a list of dual nationals playing for Bundesliga youth teams. If we had a fair and proper scouting system, we would be inviting those players and someone like Arman Nahany, who has expressed interest in playing for Iran and has already played at a much higher level than this 15-year-old, Mahan Baghdadi, or Arwin Javad ever have.

I hope I’m wrong though and this is just a start to add more dual nationals to our youth teams.

on Team Melli twitter, some fans have given up on IFF taking action and taken it upon themselves to keep a database of as many diaspora Iranian players as possible and send it to all the coaching staff in the U17, U23, and senior team on their social medias. Can't comment on his potential connections, but I do know that this time a bunch of people spammed the new coach on instagram with the list of players .

Funny enough a few months ago I messaged afazeli about looking into Stuckler who is tearing up Serie C and his main club just got promoted to Serie A. And his response was " Hello. Please send his porfile so that we could track hime. Thsnk you"

i dont get it- we push through fifa documents for a 15 year old from norway but Eckert and Zahiroislam's situations remain unresolved.

                just doesnt make sense

because there is no money to be made in U 17 in this scenario. But for TM you have mofia and gangs that you have to go through to get a player into the roster.

i can imagine it takes some effort to go to the iranian embassy in norway to make something happen? still that's effort which someone in the iff have done- why havent they done it for the other players?

Which effort? This guy seems to be fully Iranian, so even if he didn’t have a passport (which he might, if he has visited Iran), it’s just a matter of setting an appointment at the embassy and getting a new one.

Eckert’s situation is more complex because his grandfather is Iranian and they’ve lost certain documents. And to be honest, based on his interview, it also seemed that he didn’t really feel the urgency himself to do something about the situation.

And if I’m correct, Kaveh Zahiroislam is also Iranian on both sides, so he should also be able to get his own passport if he wants to.

Don’t get me wrong, IFF has shown to be incompetent in many areas, including scouting youth players, but these passport issues are also the responsibility of the players.
