With Van Persie gone, the team out of contention for a conference league spot, his inevitable benching has happened.
His replacement just scored a goal.

He took and scored a penalty. Whole team was bad. ARJ was his classic self, some really good moments but mostly ass

Dogturd of a performance from him in the first half.
Sloppy passes, not tracking back on D.
On par with his Uzbekistan match.

He did as good as you can do without actually assisting or scoring.
Very involved, and created some good chances.
Not sloppy at all.
Even though he's not a captain, he defo leads the team.

He should stay in Eredivisie next season too. Its a good fit for him. he already made the money and taking a pay cut and play in this relatively good league is better than going to persian gulf leagues.

They are playing today, up 2-0 in the first half. AJ is playing. This is his official 200th game in Eredivisie.

This half was one of those scenarios where the stats don't reflect the actual performance of a player.
On paper he had a shit half, but in reality he was decent.
Should have probably had a goal, but if you see the replay the ball bounced off the ground right before he kicked it.
Very involved, and his team's goal came from a transition he started.

I was with him last week. Still the nicest footballer ever. We met Mehdi together as well. Hopefully he will keep his good form and move to a bigger team in the summer.
