It's actually 3 goals and 9 assists per TransferMarkt: https://www.transfermarkt.us/mehdi-t...spieler/307058
    • He has 12 G/A total (which is one more than Barella, one of their best players).
    • That's tied for 5th most on Inter.
    • He had a G/A every 157 minutes on the pitch (not bad at all).
He definitely should've scored more. But 12 G/A in a down year shows how good he actually is. And this doesn't count the little things that Mehdi does that doesn't show up in the box score. Drawing red cards, drawing PKs, etc.

It's far from the disastrous season many are making it out to be.

My Italian friend asked me about taremi, why he sometimes shows uninspired at inter and shy..then he said it’s his first year and even Zidane had a hard first one that days..I think if inter keeps him, he can prove he is not that bad as it seemed in the middle of the season..but he needs to score..in italy you don’t get that many chances..like yesterday that 1 on 1 was actually an easy goal

Agree, and he still has a chance to add to these numbers in the CL Final and Club World Cup.

We'll see if Inzaghi decides to play Taremi vs PSG in the event they're down and need a goal late in the game? Otherwise, I think he is definitely getting some minutes if they're protecting the lead.

Guys...at some point we are just coping. Lets just admit he did not have a good season...he has ZERO goals in Serie A from open play!! He has not scored a single non-penalty goal aside from the cup game vs Milan.

AND THAT'S OKAY! We all know he's talented, and he faced an unfortunate injury with his case of pubalgia which has been impacting him since the Asian Cup. He's going to work on it and bounce back. He had an average season, a few good games, but mostly lacking impact aside from a few times.

I saw this happen with Azmoun as well last year, everyone here was going on about how he's better than Lukaku...how he's losing weight, how his 7 G/A is okay for someone who is unfit/injured/etc.

I have faith that he will come back next season because of his professionalism but let's stop the coping

Great post. Connected to reality while still being positive and supportive. But 0 likes. If you wrote Taremi is better than Messi it would have 6 or 7!

i agree somewhat to jest of the post but i defo wouldnt say that overall he had a poor season by any means or measure..!!
you must be somewhat diluted to be expecting him to replicate his Porto 2years ago scoring figures in such a competitive league/team,(this late in his playing career) where to begin with was brought in just to be a back-up to key striker starting duo of Lauti/Marcus and competing with 2 other veteran top league EU strikers just for the chance to do so..!!

SerieA especially at a current top italian/eu club "Inter Milan" was certainly a huge step up for him from Porto/Liga Nos and your expectations of his season long achievement must be in line accordingly...!!

sure @peak of his injury flare-up period (when Inter were juicing him with painkillers just to field him) he was largely asss out there but that so for like less than a handful of matches from my recollections but Not Scoring frequently DOES NOT necessarily equate to Not Performing admirably ...!!

NO effing way he woulda amassed sooo many game minutes in his first season at an EU elite club, if he wasnt Performing well and helping the team get good results..!!
SURE his pure scorer's figures fell short of most of our expectations, but he can certainly be proud of his overall performances and impact in his first season at an elite club/league and take comfort in the FACT that his team (barring 1game that i recall) attained a Favorable end result on the games that he participated and completed a large portion of..!!
go back and watch the games for yourselves, except 1 time, every fkn time he was yanked from the game prematurely Inter went on to get fked with a loss/draw or otherwise disappointing end result..!

trying to compare his season long achievements to that koongoshaad goozoo supposedly javoon Azmoun ??? come on man, fo real...?
azmoun couldnt even get/keep himself in playing fitness levels for like months in his one lousy season at roma and largely rode the bench for the rest of that season..!! again just because he got more goals from run of play perhaps? doent mean he Performed admirably enough and with professionalism whole season long, otherwise Roma woulda paid the measly 5-6 mil to keep him there rather pay some double as much to lure in a much shittier striker ..!!

hell w/o looking i could claim Mehdi amassed more minutes (league, ucl, cups) in his first season in an elite club than any other iranian player ever managed the whole time they could keep themselves at their respective supposed elite clubs..! daie/karimi who else ? hamashoon already baayad beran jolo mehdi boogh bezanan, so far as im concerned ..!

i have little doubt Mehdi will be retained by Inter for next season and if so, im fairly sure by then he will attain the confidence needed to play with more authority and selfishness that is required on the attacking front, in order to improve on his scorer's stats as well.!!

I agree with your whole post! I do think the expectations people had of Mehdi at the beginning were insane. My original prediction for him was 10-15 G/A (you can see it the beginning of this thread).

Having said that, it's still a fact that as a striker he didn't do the most important aspect: score. Regardless of his linkup play and defensive contributions, Inter demands more from it's strikers. We Iranians love to cope and make excuses but the matter of truth is that his status at Inter is still 50/50 because even they are not sure if they wanna keep him! With all the reports that are coming out about the final match deciding his fate! So clearly his defensive performance is not enough even for Inzaghi and Inter.

So we will see in 1-2 weeks

I am going to pre-emptively speak out a nightmare in the hope that it prevents it from ocurring. This is how I combat cheshmzadan.

I predict Taremi misses a defining penalty shootout attempt in the CL final and is the reason Inter loses.

the only scenario I see is if inter are winning after the hour mark then taremi will be warming up... in xtra time there can be an opportunity to get some minutes

I just hope they win, otherwise this team will go down as a team that was only good for 2nd place in every competition in 2024-2025 season.

no this one is worse, because Inter was in 4 tournaments lol, Leverkusen was only in 3 tournaments.
