What a performance, and the goal...wow. The leap, the lay off. Sublime and world class.
Form temporary, class permanent.
Commiserations to his haters here, I know it will be difficult to swallow. inshallah az hesadat namirin
His form was poor for a long while and some criticism from Inter and Iranians were legitimate. There's a reason a bum like Correa is getting starts. At times in the past two months he legitimately looked like a random mid-table PGPL player who won a prize to be allowed to be on the pitch.
With that said, claiming he's a shit footballer on the other hand is also ridiculous. He's clearly an intelligent player and the best all around Forward Iran has produced (Azmoun a better finisher and Daei a superior athlete).

He did excellent tonight, composed on the ball, lovely touch for the assist, and disrupted Yamal defensively. He got a lot of praise globally for this performance.
im happy, get to see him in the final. He always performs up to his standard in the UCL, it seems something about this tournament unlocks his potential.
I do maintain my prior criticisms about his overall level of play lacking the world class caliber expected at Inter. However, he can fit in as a role player, which is what he proved today and is the case he is trying to make to allow himself not to be sold in the summer.

I'm not sure you guys realize how big this is!
This was, arguably, the greatest CL semi-final game of all time!
This semi-final was perhaps the most amazing fixture I've witnessed from Inter in over almost 30 years of following this team (I miss perhaps 2-3 games per season). I dont know how I am still alive as I probably had 50 heart attacks tonight. Everyone, perhaps except for Carlos Augusto was brilliant today and did amazing! But if I have to pick it's hard not to go with Sommer & Acerbi as the biggest heroes.
As for Mehdi, I agree he was really good this game, by far and with no contest his best game so far. I would take it one step further and say this has got to be the most important performance from any Iranian ever in any game. And I am neither a lover or hater of Taremi, I say this as someone who is first and foremost an Inter fan above anything else (judge that however you want). Objectively I really believe he has been terrible pretty much the entire season. But then he somehow steps up and peaks during these fixtures with Barca. Talk about finding the most perfect moment to perform.

But he has definitely turned the corner, And all confidence related, as we can see. The barca performance in 1st leg brought him back to life.
And now he has a chance to make history and redeem his whole season.

Mehdi was excellent tonight. But honestly, should we be surprised?
CQ believed in him early on, when a lot of people didn’t. He dominated the Portuguese league, been historically excellent during champion’s league, and even played well in the last world cup.
It’s one thing if outsiders think Mehdi “sucks” cuz of this season. But as iranian fans, with his overall body of work, we should know better…
High footballing IQ, very coachable, high work-rate, and selfless. Obviously, his injury had been hindering his performances until now, plus, when inter as a team play well, surprise surprise, mehdi plays well too.
This is truly a historical achievement for iranian football, so proud of him.
